Two days away.

Make an Impact 2026 is first and foremost a celebration of the extraordinary work of City Impact Center — the second largest charity in Las Vegas and a beacon of hope for this community. This evening exists because of their mission and their heart for the people of this city.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Gallagher International Group and to Elizabeth Gallagher personally for their partnership and for opening the door for the Power of One Foundation and SCGG RMX to bring our cause to this program. That generosity of spirit is what makes rooms like this possible.

This year the evening carries global weight. His Excellency Moses Michael Engadu, Secretary-General of the Africa Minerals Strategy Group, will deliver a special video address as we launch the Clean Water Campaign for Ghana — bringing life-sustaining clean water to communities that have gone without for far too long.

I’m grateful to be part of Make an Impact 2026, an extraordinary evening bringing together leaders across business, philanthropy, and global development — all aligned around one simple mission: creating real impact.

Celebrating Black history must happen year-round—not just for one month.

This Black History Month marks 100 years of dedicated efforts to study, preserve, and honor African American contributions to U.S. history and culture. That work matters now more than ever, as access to Black history is increasingly challenged and limited in schools. Learning the full story isn’t optional—it’s essential.

The history:
Historian Carter G. Woodson, often called the “Father of Black History,” created the precursor to Black History Month in 1926, launching it as “Negro History Week” to promote the study of African American contributions, with February chosen to honor the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, a tradition later expanded to a month-long celebration recognized nationally by President Gerald Ford in 1976.
