Oregon is staring down a ballot initiative being sold with friendly language—but the real-world impacts don’t stay on paper.

IP28 would criminalize intentional harm to an “animal,” and in practice that ripples through everyday Oregon life:
- cattle ranching + local meat
- farmers markets and vendors
- restaurants that source locally
- fishing + commercial fishing
- pest control and public health
- science-based wildlife management

That’s why we’re producing a film with Big Peak Studios: to show the people, industries, and communities this would hit—clearly, credibly, and without the spin.

🎥 Help fund the film: howlforwildlife.org/ip28film
If you represent a brand/org and want to discuss bigger support, we have a sponsor inquiry section on the same page.

This isn’t left vs. right. It’s whether Oregon is governed by workable rules and science—or by ballot-box slogans with real consequences.

The clock’s ticking and the best seats in the house won’t wait.

We’re just weeks out from HOWL For Wildlife’s First-Ever Banquet, and private table packages are disappearing fast. This isn’t just a seat at the table…it’s your crew, your space, your night to be part of something bigger.

Lock in a table. Bring your people. Raise a glass to hunting, conservation, and the future we’re fighting for.

Because when the room fills up… it’s game over.

Reserve your table before they’re gone.

We also added a Johnny Cash cover band!

On Thursday we spoke at the Capitol. We met with the Governor's office & met with CDFW.
We turned in over 30,000 signatures opposing the decisions made on the Catalina Island Mule Deer Eradication.

This is due diligence work. It's proactive. Its leaving no stone unturned. Yes - we have also taken this issue to the courts and our first court date comes in June. We're hitting all the angles and adding fuel to the fire.

I couldn't be more proud of all of our partners on this. On this day , , , , Tom Mattusch, and Robin Cassidy joined together to speak up and take action.

On Friday night we raised a bunch more funds for the fight!

Thank you to everyone who came out last night to .vault1124 for the Catalina island deer & wine mixer. Although we were 580 miles away from Catalina Island, this community realized the importance of this issue in California.

Lots of funds raised, great time and great people. Great way to cap off turning in over 30,000 signatures to , , and the day before.

Huge thanks to , and Robin Cassidy for hosting and organizing! Absolute rock stars!

Thank you and Ruth .vault1124 for the space and all of your continual efforts.

See you all on May 30th at the 1st annual Howl Banquet!

California Action!

SB 1305 is in Senate Appropriations — and the vote is coming fast.

This bill creates a state “roadmap” for grizzly reintroduction in California.
And a roadmap isn’t neutral… it’s momentum.

California today isn’t historic California. With intense recreation, major development, and existing predator conflicts, pushing a grizzly plan forward without clear department support is reckless—and arguably bad for the bears too.

Take action (email legislators in under a minute):

Share this post + send the action link to 3 people. That’s how we win these votes.
