¡La alegría de leer juntos! El programa PSP/Raising a Reader (Criando Lectores), apoya a las familias para que desarrollen rutinas diarias de lectura en casa. Promueve la alfabetización temprana y el desarrollo infantil mediante la distribución de las bolsas de libros rojas, sesiones de cuentacuentos y talleres familiares en los condados de Marin y Sonoma, California.

The joy of reading together! PSP/Raising a Reader Program supports families to develop daily reading routines at home. It promotes early literacy and children development through the RAR red book bags circulation, storytimes and family workshops in Marin and Sonoma counties, California.

It is truly never too early to read to your baby. In fact, pediatricians recommend starting during pregnancy. In the very first month of life, babies are growing essential connections in the brain.

Reading with your baby strengthens the parent-child bond and provides a foundation for language development and learning.

Nunca es demasiado pronto para leerle a tu bebé. De hecho, los pediatras recomiendan empezar durante el embarazo. En el primer mes de vida, los bebés desarrollan conexiones cerebrales esenciales. Leerle a tu bebé fortalece el vínculo entre padres/madres e hijos y sienta las bases para el desarrollo del lenguaje y el aprendizaje.

Hoy se celebró la Caminata Anual de Madres organizada por el Centro de Apoyo Posparto, y fue un día hermoso e inspirador. Nos reencontramos con amigas, hicimos nuevas y recordamos la increíble fortaleza que existe en nuestra comunidad de madres y familias.

Algunas madres muy valientes compartieron sus historias personales y la realidad de que la depresión posparto puede afectar a las madres de maneras que quizás ni siquiera reconozcan al principio. Su honestidad, valentía y vulnerabilidad fueron un poderoso recordatorio de que ninguna madre debería sentirse sola.

Hay muchísimo amor, apoyo y compasión para TODAS las madres en el Centro de Apoyo Posparto y entre sus parejas. Estamos increíblemente orgullosos de colaborar con Ivana Jagodic y su increíble equipo mientras continúan con esta labor transformadora para las familias de nuestra comunidad.

Today was the Annual Mom’s Walk hosted by the Post Partum Support Center, and what a beautiful and inspiring day it was. We reconnected with old friends, made new ones, and were reminded of the incredible strength that exists within our community of mothers and families.

Some very brave mothers shared their personal stories and the reality that postpartum depression can affect mothers in ways they may not even recognize at first. Their honesty, courage, and vulnerability were powerful reminders that no mother should ever feel alone.

There is so much love, support, and compassion for ALL mothers at PPSC and among their partners. We are incredibly proud to partner with Ivana Jagodic and her amazing team as they continue this life-changing work for families in our community.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the love, leadership, and strength of mothers and caregivers everywhere — and we honor the birthday and lasting legacy of our founder, Ethel Seiderman.
Forty-five years ago, Ethel founded Parent Services Project with a powerful vision: that families are leaders in their children’s lives, schools, and communities, and that when families are supported and empowered, children and communities thrive.
Although Ethel is no longer with us, her vision lives on every day in the parents who advocate for their children, the families who build community together, and the caring relationships that create belonging, equity, and opportunity for all.
At PSP, we remain committed to engaging and strengthening families to take leadership for the well-being of their children, families, and communities. We are grateful to continue this work alongside the incredible parents and caregivers who inspire us every day.
Happy Mother’s Day, and happy birthday, Ethel. Your vision continues to guide us.

Este Día de la Madre, celebramos el amor, el liderazgo y la fortaleza de las madres y cuidadoras de todo el mundo, y honramos el cumpleaños y el legado perdurable de nuestra fundadora, Ethel Seiderman.
