MIKE GHILOTTI EARNS OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AWARD FROM SAN RAFAEL ROTARY: Ghilotti Bros., Inc. CEO Mike Ghilotti (center) earned the Paul Harris Fellow Medallion with a display plaque recognizing Mike for his “Outstanding Community Involvement.” Rotary Club of San Rafael on May 4 honored Mike for his continued support of the club, including the workers and materials needed to complete Lauren’s Place in downtown San Rafael, as well as coming through in a pinch when lights were needed at the Marin County Fair scholarship parking lot fundraiser. Mike, known for his lifelong generosity toward community needs, was voted Best Business Person in Marin by Marin Independent Journal readers this year, for good reason. THANK YOU MIKE AND CONGRATULATIONS.

We extend our deep gratitude to Rotary Club of San Rafael for their extremely generous donation of Target gift cards for the children we serve at SVdP! We are so appreciative.

This gift will directly benefit families with children - every child who comes into our dining room with their parents on Christmas Eve will receive a $50 Target gift card. This embodies the holiday spirit by ensuring every child will have a toy on Christmas. This would not be possible without the Rotary Club of San Rafael.

All of our diners will receive a backpack with a scarf, gloves, hygiene kit, and See’s Candy along a handmade holiday card. Because of you, we are honored to spread joyful holiday cheer and strengthen our community with love and hope.

Thank you, Rotary Club of San Rafael, and See's Candy! You are helping us change lives.

Rotary Club of San Rafael welcomes John Straub as its newest member, inducted Oct. 27 at Dominican University. John recounted that he was born and raised in West Virginia and wife Carol in South Dakota. They met in summer jobs in DC. He began a career as an intelligence analyst and she started as a teacher, later becoming chief of staff for a Virginia state senator. On his retirement he and Carol decided to move from their home of 43 years in Vienna, VA to Marin to be near their sons Paul and Mark and their families. John's introduction to Rotary began through Matt Taddei’s retirement seminar, after which Matt and Jaime Ortiz introduced John to several Marin clubs. Welcome John!
