Did you know?

When children have consistent access to creative expression in a safe space, guided by someone who shows up every week, something shifts.

They start to trust the room. Then the people in it. Then themselves.

That's what our programs are built around. Not art as a product, but as a place to belong.

Rosalyn Eastman came to the OMA Community Room and handed the room over to the children for some custom tote and t-shirt designs. The kids left with the coolest tees and tote bags that they made themselves. We love how it all turned out.

Rosalyn is a Community Artist with DrawBridge and a program coordinator at Homeward Bound Marin, where she works every day to nurture stability and hope for families. She brought that same care into the room with her.

Imagine and create your own mask using ribbons, pompoms, markers, gems, foam shapes and more.

This week is National Arts in Education Week. Theme: "Every Student, Every Community."

At DrawBridge, we've believed that for nearly 40 years, and we show up every week to prove it.

Arts education shapes creative thinkers, strenghtens community and opens doors for the children and youth in our arts programs.

Hey Oakland, we’re hiring Expressive Arts Group Facilitators for our Oakland sites.

If you’re energized by imagination, drawn to relationship-building, and see facilitation as co-learning rather than a script, this role is for you.

DrawBridge provides expressive arts programs to children experiencing housing instability across the Bay Area. Facilitators lead sessions where kids get room to imagine, build real relationships, and shape the direction of the group together.

Join our team to be part of this mission.

Openings in Oakland:
Transitional Housing Site — 3 hrs, 1x/week
Shelter Site (94618) — 2 hrs, 3x/week
Afternoons, part-time, $20–$25/hr

Also accepting rolling applications for San Francisco sites.

Thank you, Maite Durán, a DrawBridge Community Artist, who led our intergenerational collage and storytelling workshop at the Albert J. Boro Community Center in San Rafael, bringing the Canal neighborhood together to imagine and build its future through art. We were so honored to have her.

A textile artist and Director of Raíces Del Canal, Maite’s practice is rooted in color, community, and the stories already living in a place. We’re grateful she brought all of that into the room with our kids.
