Trips for Kids Bay Area

Trips for Kids Bay Area Helping youth shift gears since 1988. Our shared mission is to provide meaningful cycling programs that inspire children to achieve their highest potential.

Trips for Kids Bay Area is a registered chapter of the national Trips for Kids® 501(c)3 nonprofit based in San Rafael, California. Founded in 1988 and now operating in over 80 locations throughout the United States, Canada, Israel and Sierra Leone, TFK has opened the world of cycling to over 175,000 at-risk youth. All TFK chapters are managed and operated independently at the local level. We curre

ntly offer the Rides and Earn-A-Bike Programs, which aim to build self-esteem, teach about healthy lifestyles and instill environmental values. We also own and operate 'The Re-Cyclery Bike Shop' that sells affordably-priced, repurposed bikes, parts, accessories and clothing to the general public. You can purchase some items through our Facebook's E-bay Store.

One of our young riders described the trail ride as challenging in some parts, exciting in others, and fun the whole way through. And honestly, that’s what growth looks like.

Every ride builds confidence. Every challenge overcome becomes part of the adventure.

Today we celebrate the power of two wheels and the positive impact biking can have on our health, communities, and environment.

Whether you ride to work every day or just once in a while, every mile makes a difference.

National Bike to Work Day is part of National Bike Month and Bike to Work Week. A reminder that bikes are more than recreation; they’re a sustainable, healthy, and empowering way to move through the world.
So if you rode today, give yourself a little extra credit.

Every ride is filled with moments of growth :-) from learning new skills to building confidence and friendships along the way.

That’s the magic of getting kids outside, active, and connected through cycling.
