Minimally Invasive Surgery: Efficiency Starts with the Team

What does it take to truly optimize minimally invasive surgery (MIS) in today’s OR? It’s not just about technology — it’s about teamwork, communication, and preparation.

Join us at the AORN San Diego Spring Workshop for this powerful session:
Minimally Invasive Surgery: How Surgeons and OR Teams Can Work Together for Better Efficiency
Presented by: Dr. Latashia Lelea, MD, MPH, FACOG
Board-Certified OB/GYN & Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon

In this session, you’ll learn how to:
• Apply key AORN guidelines to MIS safety, equipment, positioning, and communication
• Improve OR workflow and reduce delays in minimally invasive cases
• Recognize complications related to insufflation
• Respond effectively to emergencies like bradycardia, CO₂ embolism, and intraoperative injuries
• Strengthen collaboration between surgeons and perioperative teams

This is a must-attend session for perioperative nurses and surgical technologists looking to enhance both efficiency and patient safety in the OR.
