While career-connected learning is a powerful tool to engage and reengage students, schools and programs often face major hurdles in access, implementation, and sustainability. This session will dive into the policies, funding strategies, partnerships, and supports that make high-quality career-connected learning possible in alternative settings. Participants will also explore key implementation challenges-such as student mobility and district control-and uncover promising practices for connecting students to long-term economic mobility

Education Northwest recently hosted a professional learning webinar — “Beyond the Four-Year Graduation Rate: A Framework for State Accountability for Alternative Schools” - and the full recording is now available.

In this first of a two-session series, Dr. Ashlie Denton and Dr. Mary Padden from share a practical, four-step framework for redesigning state accountability systems so they actually reflect what alternative high schools do and the students they serve.
