✨ What a beautiful community partner filled Sunday! 💙

Today was all about connection, collaboration, and community! 🤝✨

Today our team attended the National Charity League San Dieguito Philanthropy Fair in La Jolla, where Interns, Iara and Ellie worked alongside Liason Rakhi Tailor to share Autism Tree’s mission 💙 and connect with young women interested in volunteering and getting involved in our programs. 👭✨

On the other side of San Diego at the Kroc Center, we had the privilege of joining the Teen Volunteers in Action SD4 kickoff event, where Volunteer and Community Engagement Manager, Kyera Franklin shared how volunteers can make a meaningful impact while supporting autistic individuals and their families with the help of interns Leidy and Clare. 💙🧩

A special thank you to Kaye Kugler and the entire TVIA SD 4 team for inviting us to speak and for your commitment to inspiring the next generation of community leaders! 🙌✨

We are incredibly grateful for our amazing community partners who help us expand our reach, empower volunteers, and create more opportunities for autistic individuals and their families to thrive. 💙🌟

Together, we’re building a more inclusive community, one act of service at a time. 🤝💙✨

🧩 MEET THE INTERN: Joonwoo “Kevin” Park! ☀️

Meet Kevin, one of our amazing summer interns! 💙

This summer, Kevin had the opportunity to support our neurodiverse intern apprentices, helping them build skills, gain workplace experience, and feel supported throughout their internship journey.

Through his time with Autism Tree, Kevin got to learn more about the autism community while being part of a program focused on creating meaningful opportunities for neurodiverse individuals. We’re so grateful for the time, energy, and care he brought to the team!

Thank you for spending your summer with us, Kevin! 🧩👏 We loved having you as part of the Autism Tree family!

It was a blessing to spend an afternoon with one of Autism Tree’s founding families and Board Member, Dr. Michael Levy. We came away very focused and excited about our April 9, 2027 Global Neurodiversity Conference!

Dr. Michael Levy has been on our global conference planning committee since the beginning, and as we reflect on 12 years of global conferences, we are deeply touched by the impact we have made locally, nationally, and internationally.

This year, our focus has been being synergistic with INSAR during its 25th Anniversary year and our conference Moderator, Dr. Brian Boyd, being the current President of the International Society of Autism Research.

Dr. Michael Levy has a deep heart connection to Otto Lana, the MOD Squad, and all multi-modality communicators. These past years, he has been a champion and an advocate of Otto’s evolving vision of “Everyone Belongs Here” and “Everyone Has A Story”, in addition to supporting our Autism Tree Book Club, which has featured many best-selling and award-winning authors.

We can’t wait to share what Dr. Levy and Otto Lana will be bringing to our 2027 conference - more details coming soon!

Another great day at the Autism Tree office with our friends from Altrusa International of San Diego! 💙

Today was all about sensory kits! 🧩 The Altrusa team spent the day helping us bring these kits together from start to finish. They cut out materials, sorted supplies, filled each bag, and carefully assembled each sensory kit so they would be ready to go home with our Autism Tree families. Together, we completed an incredible 192 sensory kits! 🎉 We are so excited to see all of their hard work come together and get these kits into the hands of families in our community! 🫶🏼✨

A huge thank you to Altrusa International of San Diego for spending the day with us and putting so much time and care into this project. We are so grateful for your continued support, energy, and partnership!

Our hearts are still full after an unforgettable night with the San Diego International Film Festival! 🎬🧡

Our Autism Tree team was deeply honored to attend last night’s Film Insider Series screening of “The Sun Never Sets" - and we received the ultimate surprise! Before the main feature began, we had the absolute joy of seeing Autism Tree featured right up on the big screen, thanks to a beautiful ad generously donated by SDIFF.

A massive, heartfelt thank you to Tonya Mantooth, CEO/Artistic Director of SDIFF, and Brad Benter, Autism Tree father and SDIFF Advisory Board Member. Brad, thank you for being the driving spark behind this opportunity and for constantly bridging our communities together in such meaningful ways. 🌟

This is just the beginning. Our vision moving forward is to partner closely with SDIFF to elevate and champion films that spotlight neurodiversity, autism, and the authentic, diverse lived experiences of our families.

Thank you, SDIFF, for wrapping your arms around our community. We are beyond grateful for this special evening and cannot wait for the exciting collaborations ahead! 🤝✨

It has been such a blessing for our Autism Tree 2027 Global Neurodiversity Conference Committee to have Dr. Brian Boyd with us this past week!

This past Monday morning, we held our final planning meeting with Dr. Boyd at our new Autism Tree headquarters, where we had meaningful and important discussions surrounding our upcoming Autism & Supported Housing Panel.

We were especially touched and honored that Archie McArthur, Executive Director of New Vista, took time out of his incredibly busy schedule to join us. New Vista operates numerous group homes and brings valuable expertise and perspective to this important conversation.

We were also grateful to have Brad Benter, one of Autism Tree’s most dedicated fathers, at the table. Brad continues to be instrumental in bringing the lived experience of families into our conference conversations and ensuring that the voices of those directly impacted remain at the heart of our work.

We walked away feeling focused, energized, and even more committed to bringing this important panel to our 2027 conference.

We look forward to sharing more details with you as the panel continues to take shape!

Our 2027 Global Neurodiversity Conference Planning Committee had a very productive and inspiring day on Friday, August 14, with our Conference Moderator, Dr. Brian Boyd.

The day included a special tour of the UC San Diego VERGE Center, including visits to the labs of our Conference Co-Chairs, Dr. Jonathan Sebat and Dr. Lilia Iakoucheva. It was an incredible opportunity to see the research environments behind some of the important work shaping the future of neurodiversity research.

Over lunch and throughout the afternoon, we held a thought-provoking and critical discussion surrounding our Autism & Mental Health Panel for the 2027 conference. We were especially grateful to have two of our Board Members, Alexandra Taccone and Michelle Rowley, contribute their perspectives and to have Autism Tree Mother Natalia Martens add her voice and lived experience to the conversation.

We came away inspired, energized, and honored to continue building on the momentum already underway—and to bring this important conversation to our 2027 Global Neurodiversity Conference.

We can’t wait to share what’s ahead!
