IMPORTANT: Correcting Compost Bin Confusion & Missing Orders
Dear Residents,

To resolve the ongoing confusion regarding the recent bin exchange, please follow these instructions:

1. Shared Compost Bins: All large 95-gallon compost (green) bins are being removed and replaced with small shared bins.

The Confusion: Many of these new small green compost bins were delivered on April 13th with only one unit number on the label.

The Correction: These are shared bins for the entire building. If your building has a new small compost bin, it is for everyone's use, regardless of the address number printed on it.

2. Individual Bin Requests: If you requested a personal small or medium compost bin by the January deadline and did not receive it on April 13th:

Please email [email protected] and let us know which bin(s) you requested and still need.

3. Removal of Old Bins: If you still have an old City of San Diego bin, a large 95-gallon green bin on-site, or any bin that you do not want, please leave it out on the curb by Monday, April 20th pickup.

🚗 Temporary Street Parking Restrictions: April 8th & 9th
Dear Genesee Highlands Residents,

Management would like to bring to your attention that the City has posted temporary "No Parking" signs along Decoro St and Cargill Ave scheduled for April 8th and April 9th.

Please be aware that any vehicles parked in these areas during the restricted times may be subject to ticketing or towing by the city. We are providing this notice as a courtesy to help residents avoid any inconvenience.

Please note that this is a city-directed project and is not being managed by the HOA. If you have any questions regarding the duration of the work or the nature of the restrictions, please contact the phone number listed on the posted signs.

🗑️ Action Required: Final City Cart Removal Scheduled for March 30th
Dear Genesee Highlands Homeowners and Residents,

We are writing to inform you of a final pickup day to collect and remove any remaining City Carts (black, blue, and green) from the community. Universal Waste Systems (UWS) will be onsite to handle the removal. Please note that all bins labeled "Property of the City of San Diego" must be removed during this pickup.

If you still have any City Carts stored in your garage or around your property, please read the following instructions carefully:

Pickup Date: Monday, March 30, 2026

Action Required: Please place your City Carts outside in the standard service area either the evening before or no later than 7:00 AM on the morning of the pickup date so the UWS team can easily access and remove them.

Empty Carts: Please ensure the carts are completely empty prior to removal.

Important Distinction: Please note that this March 30th pickup is only for the removal of the City of San Diego carts. The exchange of UWS-branded bins (such as swapping for a different size) is a completely separate process that will take place in April. More details regarding the UWS bin exchange will be sent to you soon.

It is highly important that you place your City Carts out for removal on March 30th. Moving forward, UWS will only service UWS-branded bins, meaning any waste left in old City Carts will not be collected. Additionally, failure to return the original City Carts may result in fees or penalties from the City for unreturned property.

Please note that UWS will only remove carts that are placed outside on this designated service day. We will send a brief reminder next week as we get closer to the date.

holiday season but must follow community guidelines to
protect property and shared spaces.
• Decorations may not be attached to the exterior of the
building using nails, screws, metal fasteners, or
adhesives that could cause damage.
• All decorations must be removed within 30 days after
the holiday has ended.

🔔 🗑️ IMPORTANT: Last Round of City Trash Bin Pick-Up on Monday, October 27
Dear Homeowners & Residents,

Please note that UWS, the Association's trash company, will be returning on Monday, October 27, to collect any remaining City-issued trash bins that have not yet been picked up.

It is extremely important that all residents place their City bins out the night before—Sunday, October 26—to ensure they are collected on Monday.

Please note:

Only City bins will be collected during this pickup.

After this collection, UWS bins will be the only bins serviced going forward.

Any City bins not placed out for pickup may incur consequences.

If you rent your unit, please be sure to notify your tenant.

If your City-issued bin has already been picked up, you may disregard this notice.
