UPDATE: New Dumpster Coming for Bulk Item Removal Event
Dear Genesee Highlands Residents,

Due to high participation, our first bulk trash dumpster has already reached capacity. To continue helping you dispose of large household items safely and conveniently, a new dedicated roll-off dumpster will be delivered to the property on Wednesday, August 26.

Community Use Only: This dumpster is reserved strictly for current Genesee Highlands residents. Please do not share this information with outside communities or non-residents, as we must ensure adequate space remains for our own community's disposal needs. Residents who leave bulk items on the street or in unauthorized common areas will be subject to fines.

Note for Property Owners & Landlords: If your unit is tenant-occupied, please ensure you pass this information along to your tenants promptly so they are aware of the schedule, guidelines, and potential fines for improper disposal.

Event Dates: A new dedicated roll-off dumpster will be available on-site starting Wednesday, August 26, 2026, through Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

**Acceptable Items:**

- Furniture (couches, mattresses, tables, chairs)
- Large household items and appliances
- General bulk trash

**Unacceptable Items**

Please do not place any of the following prohibited items into the dumpster:

- Hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, motor oil, batteries)
- Electronics / E-waste (TVs, computers, monitors)
- Construction debris, dirt, or concrete

**Important Guidelines**

- Do not overfill: All items must fit inside the container and not extend above the top edge.

- Keep areas clear: Do not leave items on the ground, on the street, or around the container. Unlawful dumping on streets or sidewalks will result in fines.

- No Outside Dumping: Do not invite non-residents to utilize the community dumpster.

📣Upcoming Bulk Item Removal Event: August 21 – September 1 🛋️🪑🛏️

We are pleased to announce an upcoming Bulk Item Removal Event to help you dispose of large household items safely and conveniently.

This community event is taking place specifically to help reduce the amount of improperly disposed bulk trash throughout the community. Residents are expected to take full advantage of this opportunity and stop leaving these types of items out in common areas, on streets, or by standard dumpsters.

Please note: Residents who leave bulk items on the street or in unauthorized common areas will be subject to fines.

IMPORTANT: Correcting Compost Bin Confusion & Missing Orders
Dear Residents,

To resolve the ongoing confusion regarding the recent bin exchange, please follow these instructions:

1. Shared Compost Bins: All large 95-gallon compost (green) bins are being removed and replaced with small shared bins.

The Confusion: Many of these new small green compost bins were delivered on April 13th with only one unit number on the label.

The Correction: These are shared bins for the entire building. If your building has a new small compost bin, it is for everyone's use, regardless of the address number printed on it.

2. Individual Bin Requests: If you requested a personal small or medium compost bin by the January deadline and did not receive it on April 13th:

Please email [email protected] and let us know which bin(s) you requested and still need.

3. Removal of Old Bins: If you still have an old City of San Diego bin, a large 95-gallon green bin on-site, or any bin that you do not want, please leave it out on the curb by Monday, April 20th pickup.

🚗 Temporary Street Parking Restrictions: April 8th & 9th
Dear Genesee Highlands Residents,

Management would like to bring to your attention that the City has posted temporary "No Parking" signs along Decoro St and Cargill Ave scheduled for April 8th and April 9th.

Please be aware that any vehicles parked in these areas during the restricted times may be subject to ticketing or towing by the city. We are providing this notice as a courtesy to help residents avoid any inconvenience.

Please note that this is a city-directed project and is not being managed by the HOA. If you have any questions regarding the duration of the work or the nature of the restrictions, please contact the phone number listed on the posted signs.
