🚀 35 students. 10 schools. 2 weeks. SO many BIG firsts!

SofYE Summer 2026 was one for the books! 🎉

✨ 7 SofYE graduates returned as mentors
🤖 Students explored AI for the first time
🚀 We visited The Basement (UCSD’s The Basement) + EvoNexus Startup Tech Incubator (EvoNexus)
🛠️ Students built prototypes and explored XR
🚌 We launched student transportation
🏆 We celebrated with our first reception + awards ceremony

And the ideas? 🔥

🐶 A calming collar for anxious dogs
💪 A wristband supporting sobriety
🍧 Healthy electrolyte popsicles
👓 Smart glasses that help you find what you lose
🌱 Phytoplankton-powered home décor

But the biggest win wasn’t any single idea.

It was watching 35 young entrepreneurs discover what they’re capable of. 💡❤️

They came with ideas.
They left with confidence.
And they’re just getting started. 🚀

Huge THANK YOU to our incredible mentors, donors, volunteers, families, schools, and community partners who made this summer possible! 🙌

The next generation of innovators is already here.

Go SofYE! 💙
