We are highlighting Dr. Mat Park, a JFKU alumnus who is redefining peak performance. After an incredible 11-year journey as an Organizational Development Specialist at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, Mat recently wrapped up his season with the agency to dedicate himself fully to his mission on the green.

As the founder of the Mental Performance Golf Academy (MPGA), Mat now applies the same high-stakes psychological principles used by astronauts to help elite golfers master their mental game.

This Afro-Caribbean Heritage Month, we’re celebrating Branden M. and the story he carries with him. From his time serving in the Marine Corps to walking the stage, Branden’s journey has been rooted in resilience, identity, and the people who’ve been with him every step of the way. With his Japanese, Puerto Rican, and Grenadian heritage represented and his loved ones by his side, this moment becomes more than a celebration but a reflection of where he comes from and who he’s doing it for.

Leanna’s journey is a powerful reminder that investing in your goals can be truly . As a first-generation college graduate, she earned her M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis and is now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Leanna also serves as an NU Ambassador and pursues her passions in pageants, modeling, and singing. Her story reflects perseverance, purpose, and the impact of creating opportunities for yourself while making your family proud. We're proud of her too. 💙
