Tuesday Talks | Why Clubs Matter
β€œAt every new duty station, I’ve experienced the immediate sense of belonging that comes with joining a spouse club.”
Spouse clubs have been bringing military families together for more than 100 years, and their mission has always been centered on supporting spouses, service members, families, and the communities where they live.
Being a military spouse is not easy. We navigate deployments, unpredictable schedules, and frequent moves that require us to start over again and again. Yet one of the things I’ve experienced at every new duty station is the immediate sense of belonging that comes with joining a spouse club.
From the moment you get involved, you’re surrounded by people who truly understand the unique challenges and rewards of military life. We all have moments when we feel disconnected or wonder where we fit in, but spouse clubs provide an opportunity to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Working together to support our communities gives us purpose, creates meaningful connections, and reminds us that we’re not alone.
The friendships, support networks, and sense of community that spouse clubs foster are invaluable. That’s why they continue to be relevant and vital to military families today.

They also make a tremendous impact through volunteerism, scholarships, fundraising, and community outreach, with military spouse clubs collectively contributing nearly $4 million in 2025 alone.

Why Wednesday πŸ’™
Have you ever wondered if volunteering really makes a difference?
Maybe you helped with a fundraiser, supported a scholarship program, welcomed a new member, or volunteered at an event benefiting military families. Perhaps it felt like a small contribution at the time.
But here’s the truth: every act of service strengthens our military community.
The funds raised through spouse clubs and volunteer organizations help support local charities, scholarships, and programs that directly impact service members, families, and children. Every hour volunteered, every project completed, and every helping hand contributes to something bigger than ourselves.
When you volunteer, you’re not just giving your time. You’re creating opportunities, supporting families, and helping programs thrive right here on your installation. The impact is real, visible, and lasting.
This Why Wednesday, we’re celebrating the volunteers whose dedication, generosity, and heart make our community stronger every day.
Thank you for showing up, giving back, and making a difference. πŸ’™

Tuesday Talks | Why Clubs Matter

"My experience in military spouse clubs taught me that military spouses truly are stronger together. These spouses are some of the most dedicated and determined individuals I have ever met.

Through volunteering, fundraising, and supporting one another, I got to see firsthand how military spouses are a force to be reckoned with! These spouses were a support system through many a deployment and TDY and continue to be lifelong friends.

We would laugh (and sometimes cry) together as we worked and played hard to accomplish the mission. It was so satisfying watching our commitment make a lasting impact on both the community and each other.

I encourage every military spouse to reach out to their local club. Make the connections because you never know if you will find your next best friend."

πŸ“Œ Resource Thursday
Can every member of your club confidently answer the question: β€œWhat does your organization do?”

This week’s resource helps clubs develop a strong elevator pitch that clearly communicates their mission, impact, and opportunities for involvement. When members become ambassadors for your organization, recruitment and retention become much easier.
Take a few minutes to fill in your club’s information and create a message everyone can share.

πŸ”— Download the Elevator Pitch Worksheet from our Resource page on our website.

Every member is a recruiter when they have the right story to tell.
