🤍 MEET BLANCO — A BIG BOY WITH A BIG HEART!

Blanco loves his people and isn’t shy about asking for affection! He stays right by his foster mom’s side and even paws at her leg for more pets. Face kisses and all-around lovin’? His foster mom gets the VIP treatment! (We don’t recommend just anyone try that, though! He needs to get to know ya first 😉)

When it comes to other dogs, Blanco appreciates having his own space and would likely be happiest as the king of his castle. He may also do well with a calm, easygoing female dog who respects his boundaries.

Blanco is a sweet boy with so much love to give. He’s looking for a home that understands his needs and lets his personality shine. Could Blanco be your guy?

I don’t know about you, but we are excited that the weather is starting to cool off here in Texas (well at least in the mornings it is…. kinda… 😉). Your pup can enjoy this frozen spook-tacular treat before the cooler days of the fall season creep in.

Dogs can help with mental health in many ways, such as:

Reducing Stress and Anxiety: Did you know that petting a dog can lower cortisol, a stress hormone and increase oxytocin, a feel good hormone.

Easing loneliness: Dogs can provide a sense of companionship and can be great listeners offering their unconditional love.

Today is world mental health day and if you have been missing the love of a dog, today might be a great day for you to adopt, foster or volunteer with GPAT.

🎉 ADOPTED TOGETHER! 🎉
Some rescue stories just have the happiest endings.

Wh***ey & Enzo came to GPAT as owner surrenders—and we knew these two boys belonged together. Thankfully, we found a foster family willing to open their hearts and home to both of them. And now… they’ve officially made it forever! Their foster family has adopted them!

While in GPAT’s care, Wh***ey also had a tumor removed, and we’re so happy he’s recovered and feeling like his happy, spunky self again.

From being surrendered together, to being fostered together, to finding their forever home together—this is exactly the kind of happy ending we hope for.

Congratulations, Wh***ey & Enzo! We couldn’t be happier for you and your furever family! 🎉🐾

👻🐾 CASPER UPDATE! 🐾👻

Remember Casper? About six weeks ago, he was living on the streets of the Rio Grande Valley, just trying to survive. Today? He’s healthy, happy, thriving… and ready for adoption!

He received all the medical care he desperately needed, and has recovered magically — all thanks to his foster! This boy is FULL of energy and ready to play! And just look at that coat! His beautiful Pyr fluff is growing back in, and Casper is quickly becoming the fluffy boy he was meant to be.

From surviving on the streets to discovering toys, playtime, soft beds, and lots of love — Casper’s rescue journey is just getting started.

Now Casper is looking for the family who will make the rest of his story the best part. 🏡🐾

🐾🌎 WORLD RABIES DAY 🌎🐾
Today, we’re giving a big bark-out to one of the simplest ways we can protect our pets, our families, and our communities: keeping dogs vaccinated against rabies.

Rabies is a deadly disease, but it’s also preventable. Keeping your dog’s rabies vaccine current is one of the most important things you can do as a responsible pet parent.

For rescue dogs, vaccines are especially important. Many of the dogs who enter rescue come from unknown backgrounds, and getting them vaccinated is a crucial part of giving them a healthy fresh start.

So today, check those vaccine records, make that vet appointment, and keep those precious pups protected!
