We're joining Greater Twin Cities United Way and partners Hearth Connection and Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless to share the impact of supportive housing for National Supportive Housing week!
Supportive Housing Week is a nationwide initiative led by CSH (Corporation for Supportive Housing) to show members of Congress how supportive housing works in their communities.
During this week, Congress is back in their home districts on recess, which creates a powerful opportunity to engage with lawmakers locally. Through tours, conversations with community members, and community-based experiences, Supportive Housing Week brings to life the real-world impact of supportive housing.
Today, Dean Carlson, our Community Development Director, represented Model Cities in style at Great River Landing for an impactful event where lawmakers met and learned from supportive housing providers in the Twin Cities. We shared information about our Sankofa and Families First programs and about the importance of reliable housing with supportive services.
Model Cities supports our neighbors across the housing continuum–from shelter at Safe Space to HomeStretch and pre-purchase counseling. For nearly 35 years, our supportive housing programs have provided safe, affordable homes where parents and children can build brighter futures. Together, we are building equitable communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
