Thank you to Minnesota lawmakers for prioritizing housing stability and investing $13Million in Sustain the Gain. This funding helps preserve supportive housing, emergency response services, outreach, and coordinated systems that keep Minnesotans housed and communities strong.

Grateful to Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan, and housing leaders and conference committee members, including Senators Lindsey Port, Liz Bolden, and Eric Lucero for MN Senate and Representatives Representative Spencer Igo, State Representative Michael Howard, Alicia Kozlowski, and Representative Jim Nash.

It was inspiring to be in community with partners at the Northeast CoC meeting yesterday, all grounded in supporting people to stay and thrive in their home communities. 🤝

We’re grateful for the chance to learn about the impact of community-driven solutions, including the S.T.R.I.V.E. Empowerment Initiative and the Homeless Youth Program in Carlton County, in partnership with United Way of Carlton and Pine County, and the leadership of Sarah Buhs.

We also heard directly from people who have utilized services in the area, who reinforced how critical it is that services start with respect, consistency, and care. 💬 KOOTASCA Community Action

We’ve made real progress on homelessness in Minnesota, but that progress is at risk right now. Supportive housing helps thousands of people stay housed and stable, and without continued funding, more Minnesotans could lose that support. We can’t afford to go backward. Supportive housing ends homelessness.

✅ Today, 97 Minnesota organizations, including businesses, faith communities, nonprofits, health care providers, and government agencies, sent a letter urging Governor Walz to keep prioritizing funding for supportive housing and the homeless response system as budget talks continue into next week. 🏠

These investments are essential to protect housing stability for thousands of Minnesotans statewide. 🛡️
