The Minnesota Center for Eating Disorders Research at the University of Minnesota is recruiting for a brain imaging study on atypical anorexia nervosa, looking at how the brain responds during learning and decision-making tasks.

Participation is open to women ages 18–50 and involves four visits: a screening appointment, an fMRI session, and two follow-ups.

If you have been diagnosed with an eating disorder, we would greatly appreciate your help taking a survey with the long-term goal of understanding basic emotions in avoidance and eating disorder symptoms, with the ultimate goal of improving treatment outcomes. We are specifically interested in gastrointestinal sensations and related emotions like disgust. It would mean a lot to hear from the people most affected by this research and to take steps towards closing research-practitioner gaps in the field. This study received approval from the IRB at Nova Southeastern University, and all data will be kept confidential and password-secured.

Participants must be over the age of 18, able to speak/write in English, and have a diagnosis of any eating disorder. Participants also must be currently receiving treatment or support of some kind, including free support groups or ongoing outpatient therapy.
