💙 This is what community in action looks like.

This fall, Eli Lilly and Company is partnering with United Way to help distribute 7,500 pounds of nutritious food across our region. This was the first of two activations bringing that commitment to life. 🍎🥕

As part of Lilly’s 150th anniversary initiative, Lilly volunteers joined United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg and our community partners at The Underground Kitchen to prepare for a farmers market bringing fresh, nutritious food directly to our neighbors.

Lilly volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help make it happen, creating greater access to healthy food while strengthening connection and community.

Thank you for choosing the Richmond region to plant new seeds and invest your time, resources and energy here. And a special shoutout to the Wegmans team members who joined us that day to lend an extra hand! 💙

This United Way campaign season, we're celebrating the organizations and individuals who strengthen our region through generosity, service, and action.

Whether they're giving, learning, or volunteering, the team at NewMarket Corporation continues to show what it means to be a committed community partner.

Recently, they learned about the challenges facing our region, raised funds for solutions, and even rolled up their sleeves to bag 6,000 apples for distribution at the Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center.

To everyone at NewMarket Corporation: thank you for being the kind of neighbors who step up, give back, and invest in a stronger future. We're grateful for your partnership as you close out another successful fundraising campaign!

Jim Ukrop was one of United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg’s most enduring civic partners. Jim was a champion for children and families, a supporter of education, a trusted advisor, and a tireless advocate for our community.

As a longtime donor, workplace campaign champion, business leader, and one of the creators of our Loaned Leaders program, Jim helped shape how we engage the business community to take action.

Through his philanthropy, volunteerism, and leadership, he touched countless lives and inspired a spirit of giving that continues across the Richmond region.

We are deeply grateful for Jim’s life and legacy. Our thoughts are with the Ukrop family and all who were fortunate to know him.
