☀What a morning! 20 of the hardest working volunteers from Dominion Energy came to the Center and got BUSY! Ten tackled the outside, working in unbearable heat 🔥 and freshened our curb appeal. 🌸The team inside assembled 60 RENEW Kits--string bags for care partners filled with activities chosen expressly for their loved one to enjoy at home. 🏠We thank Grace & Holy Trinity Church, Richmond VA for the generous grant to create these much needed and much appreciated RENEW Kits. And a big thank you to the HR and legal associates from Dominion--you ROCKED it!

It happened! Another Joy Circle opened its doors to neighbors for an afternoon of fun, friendship, and support! Trinity United Methodist Church Richmond VA volunteers and staff created a wonderful experience for those living with memory loss and their care partners! Did you know? Musical memory is often the last to fade in individuals with dementia. Because musical processing occurs across multiple, deep areas of the brain, a person can often still recall lyrics, play instruments, or feel deep emotional connections to familiar songs long after their short-term memory has severely decline.
