Finally was able to schedule a time to get this Virginia Green Travel Star Award to Fillagreen for their "Eco-Elves Upcycling Drive" for this past year's Greater Manassas Christmas Parade, where collected all of the waste materials generated at the end of the event during disassembly of the parade floats. More than 300 lbs of wire, fabric, foam, and decorations that were salvaged and found new homes as materials for whomever wanted them.
Accepting the award is Fillagreen's John Hicks with Virginia Green Travel's Tom Griffin in front of the Downtown Fredericksburg store. Their main store is in Historic Manassas, Inc..

Recognizing Lisa M. Harrison today as a Virginia Green Travel ALL-STAR!
Since 2018, Lisa has served on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Green Travel Alliance as our awesome Treasurer. Lisa is a CPA for Harris, Hardy & Johnstone, P.C., but we met Lisa as a serial volunteer who served on and led Green Teams for the festivals and events that were certified as Virginia Green Travel Events, such as Richmond Folk Festival, Dominion Energy Riverrock, Broad Appetit, and, of course Richmond 2015, the world cycling championships.
Lisa is now stepping down from the Board and we are so thankful for her service to our organization and the Richmond community! Thank you Lisa!!

Here at the Virginia Wine Expo and the Virginia Green Travel Alliance is the charitable beneficiary this year for this great event! All of the events this week have composted food wasted and recycled to the extent possible. We are proud too recognize the Expo as a certified Virginia Green travel event!
