With NECA Convention right around the corner, now is a great time for a reminder about your Oregon-Columbia Chapter, NECA Education Funds.

This is an incredible benefit available to our members, and we want to see you take full advantage of the funds available to your company. We encourage all members to put their education funds to use and submit reimbursement requests by December 15.

As a refresher, the Oregon-Columbia Chapter, NECA Education Fund Policy was updated effective May 2026. A few important updates to keep in mind:

• More reimbursement flexibility: Checks can now be issued directly to the member company, in addition to the existing reimbursement options.
• 45 day submission requirement: Reimbursement requests must be submitted within 45 days of the expense being incurred.
• Annual deadline: All reimbursement requests must be submitted no later than December 15 at 5:00 PM.

Don’t leave your education funds unused! Whether you are attending NECA Convention or investing in other eligible education and training opportunities, we encourage you to make the most of this valuable member benefit.

🏆 Congratulations to Christenson Electric - Our 2026 NECA Project Excellence Award Winner!

Christenson Electric, Inc. has been named a national winner in NECA’s 2026 Project Excellence Awards for their work on the ZoomInfo project, taking top honors in the Design Build > Over $1 Million category.

The Project Excellence Awards recognize standout work from NECA contractors across the country, and it’s always a proud moment to see an Oregon-Columbia Chapter, NECA member represented on the national stage.

From recognizing our contractor member's interns to supporting education and our local community, our recent Giving Day Chapter Meeting was filled with success. We proudly supported the new NECA Student Success Fund in partnership with State University and presented a check to City Concern with proceeds from our Annual NECA Golf Tournament.

Members also heard informative industry updates from NECA National President Mark Walter, Chapter President Sonja Rheaume, Executive Director Todd Mustard, NIETC Safety Director, Barry Moreland, and NECA/IBEW Training Director, Marshall McGrady.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, participated and continues to strengthen our chapter.

Book Your Room: Our chapter's room block is at the W Hotel, 3940 S. Las Vegas Blvd. Reservations must be made by August 12, 2026 — after that, rooms release and rates go up. If the W Hotel doesn't show up as an option during booking, let us know and we'll get it sorted.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year's Oregon-Columbia Chapter, NECA Golf Tournament! It was a great day out on the course, made possible by all of you who came out to play.

Together, we raised $11,650 for Central City Concern, funds that will make a real impact in our community.🌟

We had a great time at the Portland Metro Chamber Annual Meeting, joining business, civic, and community leaders committed to shaping the future of our region.

The conversations highlighted the importance of strategic investment, strong public private partnerships, and a shared vision for a vibrant regional economy. These priorities closely align with our mission to support the electrical construction industry and strengthen the communities where we live and work.

We are proud to represent electrical contractors who are helping build the systems that power Oregon and Southwest Washington while creating rewarding career opportunities through apprenticeship and industry partnerships.
