We have limited space and resources so we can only rescue a few at a time. We have to make sure we have foster homes ready and the funds to cover medical care. It’s so heartbreaking to see them out there, knowing many of them will not survive long, but not be able to just scoop them all up. 💔

Little Fern was covered in mats when we rescued her in Cannon Beach. Her whole coat was a thick layer of severely matted hair. While sedated for her spay, the fantastic team at East Padden Animal Hospital shaved off all her mats, allowing her skin to breathe and relieving her from the painful tugging of mats on her skin. Mats can also trap plant debris and parasites close to the skin. We are so happy we were able to rescue her and give her a brand new start!!

Fern will be available for adoption once she is done with her deworming treatments and is up to date on her RHDV2 vaccine!

Brambles was a champ at his first vet visit on Tuesday! All the staff fell in love with him. 😍 How could you not? They shaved a few small mats from his fluffy coat, ran a f***l test, and administered his first RHDV2 vaccine. Looks like he is a healthy young boy!

Fern did well for her spay and may clipping yesterday! The vet said she’s younger than we thought… probably 4 months old! Her foster care provider says she is recovering well and is eating and pooping. Please enjoy these before and afters! We can’t wait to see how she looks once her coat grows back in!
