Proud to present our Q4 donations! All the members of SBBC are dedicated to making your dollar count towards real change 🌎 this quarter, we voted on sending our support funds to Sogorea Te’ Land Trust✨

Sogorea Te’ Land Trust is an urban Indigenous women-led land trust based in the San Francisco Bay Area that facilitates the return of Indigenous land to Indigenous people.

We at SBBC have been taking the past few days to create a raffle donation to collectively raise funds for the NNAF (National Network of Abortion Funds). As an organization, we will always stand for what we believe in, and in this case - we stand with those who want and need to exercise the right to seek and have an abortion.

Everything counts when it comes to helping out! We will be collecting donations for a week from today, and our collective businesses will be donating a bundle of their choice to select winners for helping us pool together the donation.

DONATE $5 FOR ONE ENTRY, DONATE $20 FOR 5 ENTRIES

We will stop collecting donations on Tuesday 7/5, and select + notify the winners on Wednesday 7/6!

We will also be completely transparent with the amount of money collected + donated to the NNAF.

Born and raised in Fort Worth, TX, she is a multi-hyphenate creative with a passion for community work. Taylor is a Black millennial mother, a brave space facilitator, and a birth worker. Her lifework centers supporting families of color, intentionally and holistically. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they are raising two amazing and creative Black boys in Austin,TX.

" I remember my transition into motherhood so vividly. It is a complete reset and rebirth. I studied and studied to prepare for the birth I wanted to have, but it never crossed my mind to prepare for a new me. During the roughest parts of my postpartum anxiety, I truly found my love and gratitude for plants. Herbal medicine helped me with nutrition, balancing my post-pregnancy hormones, supported my son’s intense bout with eczema and so much more. “hi, i’m samantha, the face behind apt herbals. i’m an artist, maker + aspiring herbalist located in portland, or.

i have always had deep connections with the earth. i find much joy in the special bonds i continuously create and nurture with plants, creatures, and landscapes. just as strongly, i’ve always felt most myself when helping others, especially when that means creating more ease in the lives around me.

the idea for APT HERBALS (A-P-T, OR ‘APT’) was created in my small apartment with gentle healing, local sourcing, education, and play in mind. so many passion projects are born in humble apartments from music, art, writing + beyond - and i have dreams to share mine in the form of herbal goods + offerings.

although this project started in my apartment, this past year i moved into a beautiful home where i can garden and even source some herbs and botanicals from my own back yard (plus, i also fulfilled my dream of getting chickens). i’m looking forward to this growing season (2022) where i can share gifts from my own garden.

having apt herbals makes me feel empowered, inspired, and having a good amount of fun. i hope to create a space for gentle healing + learning about the earth’s offerings in safe, sustainable, and informed ways.”
