To put that into perspective, picture 23,668 shopping carts overflowing with $150 worth of fresh produce and pantry staples. That’s miles of groceries, thousands of full plates, and endless relief for families right here in our community.

Looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? PACS is looking for friendly, dedicated volunteers to join our Thursday evening food pantry team!

We are currently seeking extra hands for our Thursday evening shifts. If you want to make a direct impact on local families and work alongside an incredible team, we would love to have you.

What you’ll be doing: Helping with food distribution, stocking shelves, welcoming community members, and keeping our pantry organized and accessible.

No prior experience is necessary—just a willing heart and a helpful attitude!

Good food on the move! 🚚✨

At the beginning of the month, the PACS Mobile Pantry visited Lents SDA Church to bring fresh groceries, essentials, and big smiles straight to the Lents community.

The PACS Mobile Pantry visits eight neighborhoods, churches, and community centers a month. Like our main food pantry, the mobile program provides 3-5 days of groceries for families using a walk-through grocery store model.

The PACS mobile pantry feeds nearly 500 adults and children every month.

Starting June 1, we are shifting our Thursday schedule to better serve our community in the evenings. Please take note of these upcoming changes to our food pantry hours:

Thursday Mornings: Closed

Thursday Afternoons: Open 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Our May Volunteer Appreciation Week was all about the heart and soul of PACS! We had a wonderful time celebrating the dedicated individuals who show up week after week to keep our food pantry, mobile pantry, thrift store, and dental clinic running and serving our community.

From sharing meals, drinking coffee, giveaways, live music, new shirts, and sharing laughs, this special week was a small token of our gratitude for the big impact you make. We couldn't do what we do without your hands, your time, and your kindness.

Numbers tell a story, and this one is incredible. Last year, our volunteers dedicated a staggering 30,202 hours to serving our community.

Whether it was sorting donations at the thrift store, packing bags in the food pantry, or helping a neighbor in need—every minute made an impact. Those 30,202 hours represent thousands of meals shared, families supported, and lives touched right here in Portland.
