We want to wish all of the students a great first week back to school!!! 🚌

We are excited to welcome you all back into the school gardens. All of the PPS Garden Coordinators, Environmental Literacy Educators, school garden volunteers, friends, and neighbors have been doing an amazing job keeping the gardens up and running for you all summer. Make sure to check them out next time you're at one of the elementary schools in Portland. There are lots of fun and exciting plants to explore 🍅🥬🥕

We are excited to host our 2nd Annual Garlic Gathering at Hurricane Valley Farm on November 7th from 10AM -12PM! 🧄 🧄

Last year we planted over 5,000 cloves of garlic that was shared with community farmers and donated to local food pantries. Help support local food security and immigrant neighbors. Join us at the farm, get your hands in the soil, enjoy delicious coffee & pastries, and help us plant this beautiful garlic.

This is a free, family-friendly event. All are welcome!

We are hosting a garlic gleaning & cleaning volunteer day and with over 5,000 heads of garlic to process, we'd love to see you there. 🧄🧄

This volunteer event will be this Thursday, September 3rd from 3pm-6pm. All are welcome! 💚

Join us for Meditation in the garden this Thursday, the 27th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at the Brentwood Community Garden.

Come enjoy a quiet and contemplative evening at Brentwood Community Garden! We are partnering with Kaneel, which offers nature-based mindfulness experiences across Maine, to bring you this lovely evening in the garden.
Kaneel is founded by proud Brentwood gardener Davinica Nemtzow, who is generously offering this event as a fundraiser for Cultivating Community. It is perfect for anyone who wants to slow down and admire the natural world; no prior meditation experience is necessary. Tickets are pay-what-you-can, suggested donation of $25.

Through guided breathing, hands-on mindfulness practices, quiet observation, and a community sharing circle, this offering will help you cultivate a deeper relationship with the garden, your neighbors, and your own sense of well-being.

✨ Save the Date! ✨

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our 2nd Annual Garlic Gathering at Hurricane Valley Farm on November 7th from 10am -12pm! 🧄🧄

The Garlic we planted last fall has been harvested and is currently drying at the farm! What doesn't go to our farmers will be planted or sold at the event. This will be a free, family-friendly event!

If you love garlic you won't want to miss out! Come hang with us at the farm, enjoy some fun and exciting activities, and help us plant next seasons garlic!

The last Pop Up Picnic of the season is coming up this Monday, August 17th, at the Boyd Street Community Garden at 5:30 and you won't want to miss out!

Join us and our friends over & the for an evening of fun in the garden! This is a FREE, family-friendly event and all are welcome. There will be live music from The Flukes, delicious food, and fun activities. Come hang with us in the garden!

Drop-in volunteer opportunities in the Community Gardens for this month are coming up soon!

If you're itching to get out in the garden, join us on either August 12th from 5pm-7pm at the Riverton Community Garden or on August 22nd from 9am-11am at the Valley St. Community Garden.

Meet new friends and neighbors, wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and come out and have fun in the garden with us! We will have gloves, tools, and light snacks to go around.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Hurricane Valley Farm last Friday to help us harvest garlic🧄 🧄

We've still got 5 more rows to harvest and are looking for volunteers to help out! Join us this Saturday, August 8th from 10am-12pm at the farm to finish up the harvest!
