This summer, ProsperityME was proud to partner with Luke's Lobster to provide financial education workshops to 29 teens, ages 14–19, participating in Lift All Boats.
Lift All Boats gives Maine students without traditional access to the working waterfront an opportunity to learn about the lobster industry, marine careers, and the science behind Maine's maritime heritage.
We helped students connect that experience with the skills they'll need to build their financial futures: from setting savings goals and creating a budget to understanding credit and exploring ways to build wealth.
Students were curious about investing, entrepreneurship, saving, and building wealth.
One student even asked how he could save more money when shopping and gaming made it difficult. That conversation became an opportunity to talk about needs vs. wants, financial goals, and making intentional spending choices.
We loved seeing this level of curiosity and enthusiasm and we're grateful to Luke’s Lobster and Lift All Boats for creating meaningful opportunities for Maine's next generation.
When young people have access to both opportunity and financial knowledge, they can build something hopeful.
