Project Linus Allegheny Butler Washington Westmoreland

Project Linus Allegheny Butler Washington Westmoreland Project Linus is a national charity with over 300 chapters. The Greater Pittsburgh chapter is very active, distributing over 256,000 blankets since 1998.

Our mission is simple: to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. We do this by giving them gifts of new, handmade blankets, quilts and afghans, lovingly created for Project Linus by volunteer "blanketeers." The Blanketeers are part of our mission, as well: we seek to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.

The first pattern, Covered in Art, was released on April 4th, and it’s such a fun one! Even more exciting, because over 1,000 people signed up nationwide, a bonus pattern was released early on March 25th before the event even began.

The bonus pattern is Covered in Wonder — a perfect way to use up your 2 1/2" scrap squares! It’s a simple take on the classic Arkansas Crossroads quilt. Each pattern includes 3 size options.

There is still time to register. Look under Events of National Headquarters website, https://www.projectlinus.org/.

We invite you to go to www.projectlinus.org and make a “Season of Giving” donation!

We need your help to continue our mission. The number of children who need blankets continues to grow. This year, we have lost Joann Fabrics, one of our greatest providers of the products we need. Our costs have increased due to this. Our needs continue to grow.

Project Linus just received another 4 star rating from Charity Navigator. This rating verifies we are a trustworthy charity that meets all of Charity Navigator's requirements and high standards. See www.charitynavigator.org.

When making a donation, please specify our chapter, Project Linus Greater Pittsburgh Area, and coordinator name, Lois Misko, so that the funds remain within our region.
