Technology + Math + Creativity = Jack-o’-Lantern Fun!

Mrs. Lytle, our Technology teacher, challenged our fifth-grade students to put their math and technology skills to work! Using Google Drawings, students designed their very own jack-o’-lanterns while practicing creativity, problem-solving, shapes, and digital design.
We love seeing our students learn, create, and have a little Halloween fun along the way!

Here we go, Steelers!

A huge thank you to our PTG for hosting an amazing Steelers Tailgate! Our students had an absolute blast celebrating together and showing their black and gold spirit.

September was all about the virtue of Respect, inspired by St. Junípero Serra.

Each month at Mother of Mercy Academy, we focus on a different virtue, encouraging our students to live it out each day in their words and actions. Students who consistently demonstrate the monthly virtue without prompts or reminders are nominated by their teachers for special recognition.

Congratulations to our September Virtue Recognition recipients for exemplifying Respect! We are so proud of these students and of all our Wolfpack members who strive to treat others with kindness, dignity, and respect every day. May we continue to follow Christ's example by living out this important virtue in all we do.

Johnny Appleseed Day in Kindergarten!

We had a bushel of fun celebrating Johnny Appleseed Day! We learned about the life cycle of an apple tree and discovered how a tiny seed can grow into a big, beautiful apple tree.

Of course, we had to do some important apple investigating, too! We tasted apples, measured them, weighed them, counted the seeds inside and even discovered that apples float! Our little scientists had fun making observations, comparing apples, and learning that math and science can be found in something as simple (and delicious!) as an apple!

Mrs. Gray is always finding creative ways for students to enjoy learning science!

Students have been working through hands-on lab stations while learning about density, mass, and volume, as well as distance, measurement, and the metric system. They are putting their math skills to the test by using formulas to solve real-world science problems at each station.

Our 8th grade and Kindergarten students had a wonderful time meeting their Church Buddies!

Through fun games and activities, they began building friendships while getting to know one another.

One of the many blessings of our Church Buddy program is seeing our middle school students lead by example, encouraging and supporting our youngest students as they grow together in faith. These special relationships help strengthen our school community and remind us that we are all part of God's family.

We can't wait to see these friendships continue to grow throughout the school year!

The Gingerbread Club is officially underway, and our elves are hard at work with Head Elf Barker!
