This morning 8/29/26 around 6am Baldwin Fire Rescue was alerted to a large water main break in the area of Ranchview and Colewood drive. Crews arrived to find water flowing into numerous homes with a large water main break and requested assistance from numerous mutual aid fire companies. Crews worked to dam and pump the water until PAWC could get the flow stopped. Baldwin Firefighters remained on scene for approximately 4 hours. And thank you to Brentwood Volunteer Fire Company, Station 116 for handling another call in our district while crews were committed.

We would like to thank Sen. Nick Pisciottano and Rep. John Inglis for their hard work in securing us a grant for our new fire prevention and public relations equipment and trailer. We are glad to finally complete the last steps of this project. The trailer is outfitted with a state of the art fire extinguisher training system and all of our fire prevention materials for schools and public relations details. We look forward to hitting the streets and schools with this in the near future.

Streets Run Rd between the city line and Brentwood Rd is closed due to flooding! Please seek alternate routes. Due to the heavy consistent rain a larger closure is possible. Please do not drive thru flooded roadways!

Shortly before 1am station 106 was alerted to assist Jefferson Hills Fire Rescue (180) with a possible residential fire. 106 units were already on the road for a additional incident that was dispatched prior. Engine 1 went enroute immediately and arrived as the FDE and secured a water supply and deployed an attack line. Engine 2 arrived behind engine 1 and supplemented engine 1s crew deploying the attack line. Upon investigation the cause was determined to be a lightning strike with no further extension. Units picked up before being released. Additional crews handled the incident dispatched prior.

106 Engine 1, Engine 2, and the Chief responded to the scene. Engine 1 arrived second due and assisted with searches throughout the fire floor. 1 cat was found and reunited with the resident.

The roadway is reopened.

Curry Hollow Road is closed between Keeport Drive and Brownsville Road due to a vehicle crash. This will be an extended closure.

🚧TRAFFIC ADVISORY 🚧

This evening (7/30) Baldwin fire rescue along with some of our mutual aid partners will be training at a acquired structure along Clairton Blvd before it is demolished tomorrow. Expect a heavy presence of fire apparatus and personnel in the area of Irwin Dr and Clairton Blvd. While there will be no road closures please use caution in the area while we utilize this structure for a invaluable training opportunity! We would like to thank Baldwin borough as well as the building owner for ensuring we got the opportunity to use the structure before it is demolished!
