re cruelty-free and/or plant-based, a blog, news, educational information, and any more as the project evolves. If you are interested or would like more details, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us here or by email.

Such a fun, heart-filling day at Kindred Spirits Rescue Ranch 🥰

Every single animal we met had the most hilarious, spoiled, and lovable personality - you can truly feel how much they're cared tor. This is more than a rescue, it's a place built on pure love!

I was incredibly touched being there today. The people behind this ranch pour their hearts, souls, and every single hour of their day into giving these animals the life they deserve 🩷 So grateful we got to experience it!

Who should we come visit next?

🦉This weather is incredibly hard on wildlife🦇Call us at 814-414-4224 if you encounter wildlife having a hard time!

With the extreme cold and unpredictable conditions, many animals are struggling to survive—especially screech owls, hawks, bats, and opossums. These species may seek shelter in garages, sheds, barns, or even homes simply because they are desperate for warmth and safety.

If you find a wild animal sheltering in or around your home, please don’t just put them back outside. Exposure in these weather conditions can be life-threatening to animals that may already be injured, exhausted, or hypothermic.

Please call us instead! Our volunteers can assess the situation and help safely get the animal to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator if needed.

Leaving an animal to “figure it out” in this weather can mean the difference between life and death. One call can save a life.

Thank you for caring and for being a voice for Pennsylvania’s wildlife💚

This Giving Tuesday, please remember the rescues who show up when no one else will. And honestly? These rescues are drowning.

They take in the animals people give up on — the scared ones, the sick ones, the forgotten ones. They love them back to life, but the truth is… it’s HARD — Emotionally, financially, and physically. Bills don’t stop coming. Food, meds, surgeries, supplies… it all adds up fast. And here’s the part most people don’t realize:
The wonderful people running these rescues still have day jobs, bills, families, and everyday responsibilities just like everyone else!

If every person gave just a few dollars, it would change everything. Please support your local rescues — they're fighting for every single animal that needs a second chance. 🐾💛

Help give disabled animals a chance!

Happy Giving Tuesday!

We hope you will consider Ricki's Rescue as one of the deserving charities you help out this holiday season!

Despite not having any adoptions this year, we took in 6 new babies this year!

In January we took in a semi feral that was trapped living outside in the freezing temps! We call him Kitty Ridgeway and he lives in the mancave at the sanctuary and has really come a long way in less than a year!

In July we took in a senior kitty that was also living on the streets. She was skin and bones weighing only 4 pounds upon intake! Nannie Doss is now doing great and currently living at my house!

In July we also took in our new CH kittens all the way from Turkey! It is extremely time consuming, stressful, difficult... a full time job basically to care for severe and moderate to severe CH cats so the rescue that took them off the streets in Turkey was having an extremely difficult time finding anyone in literally THE WORLD to take them! Raine and Cyclone (or baby werewolf as we've renamed her for now) are now residents of my house and a lot of work! Healthwise, Raine is great and thriving... temperament wise, she's not a fan of other animals or humans! She spends her time playing with toys in her crib and that seems to make her happy! Healthwise Baby Werewolf is a HOTT mess! We've spent thousands now to try and resolve her self mutilation issues and find out why she's exactly the same weight now as when she flew here 4 months ago! Temperament wise, she's a LOVER! She loves laying on humans and she spends the vast majority of her day cuddling with her brother and sister Thunder and Lighty! The 3 of them are inseparable and she seems so happy to have found them!

In October, we took in 11 year old brother and sister chihuahuas, Hansel and Gretel! They spent the majority of their lives crated and don't really understand how to use a leash, walk on their own, potty outside, or really how to be a dog! We took care of their many health issues they had when they got here and healthwise they're doing well now despite Hansel being in heart failure. Gretl spends her days on the couch with mom and her nights sleeping right on top of mom in bed! Hansel on the other hand is a daddy's boy! He has his own bedroom where he spends his days and nights .... sometimes with his brother Harley... sometimes with his dad watching TV and giving him some love! He still doesn't like being handled but his 2nd vet visit did NOT require a lasso and muzzle like the first, so to say he's already come a long way is an understatement!

Please help us continue to care for all the special cats and chihuahuas in our care (who are constantly at the vet or groomer)!

Donations can be made via our PayPal at [email protected] or through our Venmo at https://venmo.com/u/RickisRescue or Cash can be dropped off at the sanctuary!

If you would like to sponsor an animal in someone's name for the holidays and would like a card from our rescue to give them, please reach out and let me know so we can get that to you!
