Trust isn’t built by words. It’s built through action—showing up when things are hard, and then doing it all over again.

Many of the survivors at Her Safe Haven first found safety by placing their trust in the teams at Safe House Project. Those teams build in minutes and days the trust we then have weeks and months to nurture—that’s no small feat.

That was Linda Kricher's first response when she learned about s*x trafficking in Western Pennsylvania.

Like many people, she believed trafficking happened somewhere else—until she heard the stories that changed everything.

Today, Her Safe Haven has provided continuous care for women recovering from trafficking, exploitation, and addiction since opening its doors in September 2023.

This position ensures a safe, supportive, and structured environment that promotes empowerment, independence, and sustained recovery. The Residential Support Specialist provides compassionate, trauma-informed care and are responsible for day-to-day supervision of residents, emotional support, and engagement in program activities.

Over the past 1,000 days, we have witnessed lives transformed, barriers overcome, and extraordinary resilience. As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to expanding hope, strengthening services, and walking alongside every woman who enters our doors.
