๐ The truth is, our old van was telling us it was time.
If you've seen me showing up to events, vet appointments, and transports in my personal car lately, there's a reason.
On our last trip to the vet with Mama Mia Gia and her puppies, the van repeatedly stalled while exiting the freeway. While we made it home safely, being stranded in the desert heat was not a risk I wanted to take with any of the pugs in our care.
Making the decision to replace the van made me a little sick to my stomach. Every dollar this rescue spends comes from the generosity of our supporters and the hard work of our volunteers, fosters, and board members. We don't take that responsibility lightly.
So while we're sad to say goodbye to the van that carried so many dogs, miles, and memories, we're excited to introduce our new-to-us pug ride, a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica.
Fittingly, her maiden voyage was picking up Mama Mia Gia after her BOAS surgery last weekโa well-earned upgrade for a mama in recovery - she enjoyed that ventilated seat.
A special thank you to the family who sold us our last rescue van, the donors who helped us add CarPlay and other bells and whistles that increase its value, and Joe's Auto for helping keep it on the road long enough to make this next chapter possible.
Please send some good vibes that she gives us many safe miles ahead. She's going to be carrying some very precious cargo. ๐พโค๏ธ
Thank you for helping us keep the wheels turning and the pugs moving safely.
