🍎 “Even a single apple changed my life.” – Iskandar

Iskandar grew up in a small coastal village in Indonesia where opportunities were scarce and economic hardship was the norm. But when FH arrived in his community, everything began to shift.

What started with simple curiosity turned into a life of transformation. Through Kids Clubs, leadership training, and mentorship from facilitators like Mesrika and Pak Dalsen, Iskandar discovered something powerful: the will to learn could change everything. 💚

“There’s no pessimism in my life when it comes to the desire to learn,” he said. “Even if the economic situation is challenging, if we truly have the will to pursue our goals, we can definitely achieve them.”

And he did.

Today, Iskandar is a village secretary, a teacher of Pancasila and Civic Education, and a small business owner whose crab and anchovy business supports the local economy. He helps govern his village with wisdom and humility, teaches the next generation, and lives out what it means to give back.

“Without Food for the Hungry, I don’t know if I would be who I am today.”

His journey is a powerful reminder: when children are supported, believed in, and given the tools to grow, they don’t just change their own future - they change their entire community.

A deadly water crisis is affecting families in Sololo, Kenya, where ongoing drought has left children without reliable access to clean water.

This Monday, October 5, Food for the Hungry is inviting Christian leaders to a special 30-minute virtual prayer gathering as we come together before God and pray for His provision.

Andrew Boru, Food for the Hungry Area Program Manager, will join us live from Kenya to share an urgent update from Sololo and lead us in prayer for clean water, good health and flourishing futures for children and families.

This , meet Pulpa y Pasión (Pulp and Passion). ☕

In Guatemala, 25 coffee-growing families are turning coffee into sustainable income and stronger futures.

Through Food for the Hungry’s partnership with Expedition Church , farmers are receiving training and resources to grow thriving businesses, improve their crops, and help lift their families out of poverty.

And the impact goes beyond coffee. Families are building water tanks, turning coffee waste into natural compost, and planting fruit trees for more food, more income, and stronger farms for the future.

“I know my education would have been impossible without Food for the Hungry’s support.”

Born in a refugee camp in Tanzania, Fabrice returned to Burundi as a child to a family struggling with poverty. Through Food for the Hungry, he received educational support and encouragement that helped change the direction of his life.

Today, Fabrice is a university graduate, community leader and the one helping others. He supports his younger sisters’ education and provides school supplies and encouragement to families in need.

“I hope to carry on that mission of blessing others.”

That’s impact that keeps multiplying. ❤️
