For years, Amina worried about how she would feed her children and keep them in school.

Then she participated in Food for the Hungry's animal husbandry training and received a goat. She worked hard, grew her herd from one goat to seven, and made a bold decision to sell four goats to purchase a donkey and cart for a transportation business.

Today, her family has moved from daily survival to stability and growth.

"I am earning a better income now, and my children enjoy fresh goat's milk every day," Amina says. "I am so thankful to Food for the Hungry for this wonderful transformation and for solving my family's basic nutritional needs."

What started as one opportunity became a pathway to stability, nutrition, and hope for her children.

Sara says: "My child now has a chance!"

Can you imagine your child missing school because you couldn’t afford a pen?

That’s what was happening for Sara who worked hard but struggled to provide basic essentials like school supplies for her family in Mozambique.

“There were times when my child João stayed home from school because I could not afford notebooks or pens,” says Sara.

“It hurt me as a mother.”

Thankfully, someone kind like you stepped in. He and his family received two goats to help them earn more stable family income.

At first, Sara said, “I was worried if two goats would really change our situation.”

But over time, those two goats gave birth to 10 kids! What began as a small gift became a growing herd. Each morning, their soft bleats would herald the new day dawning with new hope for Sara’s family.

Thanks to generous supporters like you, Sara also learned how to care for their livestock so they could cope through droughts and stay healthy. As their herd grew, Sara sold four goats to support João’s education and their household needs.

“Now I can buy school materials for my son,” she says, her eyes shining.

João returned to school, carrying his books proudly. He no longer stays behind while other children learn.

Sara watches him head off to class and smiles. “Things are different now. I feel relieved and hopeful. My child now has a chance!”

Thank you for empowering moms like Sara and giving their children a chance to reach for their dreams.

Olga felt "scared" - now she helps moms grow strong!

Poverty and rising prices made it hard for Olga to buy food for her family in Bolivia.

But everything changed when generous friends like you began sponsoring her son Benjamin and daughter Fabiola.

Here’s how your overflowing love helps moms like Olga learn new skills to feed their families and build brighter futures…

Olga got the chance to join a mothers’ club, which runs thanks to kind supporters like you. She says:

“Our facilitator, Sister Angelica, teaches us how to make yogurt and jam.

“But above all, she teaches us from the Word of God!”

Olga was also invited to join a savings group, but fear held her back:

“I saw the moms meeting, but I was scared. Sister Angelica told me, ‘You should come’, and I went happily!”

Today, Olga is president of that savings group! She confidently leads other moms forward and can buy all the groceries her family needs!

Her son Benjamin says:

“Thanks to all of your help, I can continue school and fulfill my dream of becoming a police officer so that I can protect my family.”

Thank you for equipping moms like Olga and encouraging them to move forward!
