Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is pause.

Over the past few years, Mental Joe has become so much more than a clothing brand. It’s become a community, a mission, and a bridge for people searching for hope and healing.

But if we’re being honest… it’s also been one of the hardest things we’ve ever built.

There are a lot of changes happening behind the scenes, and we’re taking some time to recenter, refocus, and make sure the next steps align with why we started this journey in the first place.

We don’t have all the answers yet, and that’s okay.

💙 Our website is still live at MentalJoe.com, and all orders will continue to be processed as normal.

If you believe in what we’re building, we’d be incredibly grateful if you’d:
• Share our posts
• Wear your Mental Joe gear
• Tell someone about our mission
• Support the Be The Bridge Foundation (our 501c3) if you’re able

Every conversation, every order, every share, and every act of support helps keep this mission moving forward.

Thank you for believing in us, for standing with us, and for reminding us why we started this in the first place.

We’re still here. We’re still the bridge. ❤️🌉

People hear M . . A and think raves, chaos, burning the candle at both ends. When really? It’s two people just hanging out.

That’s the part nobody expects. The ego drops. The defensiveness drops. You can say “hey, this thing you do drives me nuts” and actually hear “okay, that’s fair” back - no spiral, no “you think I’m a bad mom/dad.” Just two people back at center.

If people can remove the stigma and use it for what it actually is, they get to connect as human beings again and in a way most people never do, because they’re too scared to look in the mirror.

We’ve been sold the idea that healing means you’ll never struggle again.

That’s not how it works.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about coming home to who you’ve always been.

It’s catching yourself before the spiral.
Setting boundaries without guilt.
Choosing peace over chaos.
Resting when your body asks for it.

It’s remembering that every time life knocks you off course, you have the tools to find your way back.

Healing isn’t linear.
It’s real.
And it’s worth it.

💙 Keep going. Your future self will thank you.

Clip from a recent podcast where I was honored to sit with the team from the After Watch Foundation and share my story. More clips to come but please give them a follow and consider donating to their amazing organization, especially if you are in Arizona.

About the After Watch Foundation:
After Watch Foundation was built because the people who founded it hit that wall themselves. They were not advocates who chose a cause. They were officers, veterans, and first responders who said I am not okay, found their way through, and decided to spend the rest of their lives making sure others could do the same. This organization exists because they refused to let the next person figure it out alone.

Eli Lilly is acquiring AtaiBeckley for $2.8 billion. What was once dismissed as fringe is now drawing billion-dollar investments from Big Pharma.👎

We’re not against research or FDA-approved therapies. We’re against healing becoming something only corporations can own.

We’ve seen what can happen when profit becomes the primary driver in healthcare, and we don’t want to see that repeated with psychedelic medicine.

We’ve always believed healing is about people, not profits. As this space grows, we hope access, affordability, and patient care remain the priority.

What’s your take?

We did the work separately first where we faced our own stuff alone, because you can’t heal what you won’t look at.

Then we did the medicine together. Actually we had the biggest fight right before we left. I wanted to bail. But Cari said no we had to go and we would let the facilitator decide if we were even ready.
I had no idea what to expect but when the medicine kicked in and I finally looked at her, I saw it — the pain I caused her. Not a memory. The actual weight of it, right there in her face.

That session wasn’t about me. It was for her.

I couldn’t rush this. Couldn’t talk my way back into trust - I had to earn it, slow, on her timeline. Patience isn’t passive. It’s the hardest work I’ve ever done.

That’s what medicine can do. It stripes away the ego, hands you the truth, and then it’s on you to do something with it.

Policy is finally starting to catch up to what a lot of us already know.

An executive order fast-tracking psychedelic drug review. Veterans in Congress pushing bills to force the VA to build clinical standards before FDA approval even lands. States funding ibogaine research at a scale nobody expected. 115 bills tracked this year alone, 17 already signed into law.

It’s not perfect. The DEA is still sitting on a 3-year-old petition while emergency-scheduling substances law enforcement barely encounters. Progress on this front never moves in a straight line.

But the door is opening wider than it’s ever been.

If you’re a veteran or first responder and you don’t know how to navigate any of this- what’s legal, what’s legit, where to even start, reach out. That’s what we’re here for. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

This weekend’s shipments told a story - best sellers being ordered, custom gear made for someone’s specific mission, and a collab with Warriorside

Also snuck in a peek at some new hoodie designs 👀 since we’re already dreaming about cooler weather.

Every piece that goes out the door isn’t just apparel. It’s a conversation starter. It’s someone choosing to wear their story instead of hide it. It’s one more person becoming part of this community.
