We’re going back to our roots with an in-person event!

Join us for Philly Asians Connect: Food, Friends & Feelings, an evening of community, conversation, and care for Asian young adults (ages 18–25ish).

Finding space to slow down, connect, and be with people who get it can make a difference.

Together, we’ll share Filipino food, connect through facilitated conversation, and hear from local Asian therapists, and trained peer leaders in a culturally grounded space designed to support emotional wellbeing.

Whether you’re looking to meet new people, reflect on your experiences, or simply spend an evening in community, we’d love to have you there.

• Free with RSVP
• Brewerytown, Philadelphia
• Tuesday, July 28, 6:00–8:30 PM
• Asian young adults (ages 18–25ish)
• Dinner provided

As Pride celebrations unfold across the U.S. this weekend, we’re looking back at some of the q***r Asian Americans who helped make care, community, and belonging more possible.

In a national survey of nearly 3,600 AAPI LGBTQ+ youth, only 1 in 5 reported receiving high levels of support from their family. But our history also shows what q***r Asian communities have built in response: organizations, advocacy, health resources, and spaces to find one another.

Swipe to learn about some of the activists, organizers, and community builders who helped shape q***r Asian life in America and the lasting impact of their work.

Their stories remind us that Pride isn’t only about visibility and celebration. It’s also about the care we create for one another and the communities that help us feel less alone 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

What’s the difference between fitting in and truly belonging?

In case you missed Dr. Han Ren’s community conversation on belonging, in her recent blog post, she reflects on what happened in the room: people from different backgrounds recognizing themselves in one another and finding language for the quiet vigilance so many Asian Americans carry.

In her latest piece for AMHC, Dr. Ren explores the cumulative cost of fitting in, the difference between code-switching and masking, and how overwork, perfectionism, and people-pleasing can become ways of earning fitting in.

She also reminds us that no single community has to hold every part of who we are. Different parts of us may find homes in different places—and that isn’t a problem to solve.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a reminder that freedom, justice, and liberation are ongoing pursuits.

As an Asian mental health organization, we believe solidarity is an ongoing practice. This Juneteenth, we’re highlighting national Black-led mental health organizations that are creating spaces for healing, advocacy, community care, and support.

We encourage our Asian community members to learn about their work, amplify their resources, and support their missions however you’re able 💛

Asian mental health matters 💛

This May, our community has helped raise $13,776 toward keeping AMHC’s programs free.

Every donation before June 1 will be doubled through a community match, up to $20k.

That means $40k towards free therapy access, support spaces, and culturally affirming mental health care for Asian communities.

Help us close the gap through the link in bio.

05/27/2026

This May, we gathered with .han.ren for a conversation on identity, belonging, and what it means to exist between cultures.

We talked about the pressure to fit into expectations, the loneliness of feeling in-between, and the complicated ways many of us learn to navigate family, culture, and selfhood at the same time.

Thank you to everyone who joined us with openness, honesty, and care.

Spaces like this remind us how powerful it can be to hear our experiences reflected back to us and to realize we’re not alone in them.

If conversations like this matter to you, consider supporting AMHC with a donation. Your support helps us continue creating free mental health programming, community spaces, and culturally affirming resources for Asian communities.

More conversations to come 💛
