What has our Co-Founder and Executive Director been up to this month?
1. Crystal had the amazing opportunity to be a Lead Team Mentor for the Call for Kindness Summit in Nashville Tennessee. She facilitated, organized, and energized 120 young change-makers from across the US. With Alejandra Picon, she led a workshop “The Power of You: Building a Brand.” Shoutout to her small group TurtleLovers8!
2. She was invited by to attend their Annual General Meeting in Detroit Michigan. Crystal learned about coalition building and environmental activism. She met with one of our LEAP mentors as well, Mika Hosler who led the environmental activism workshop!
3. As part of the and inaugural Youth Changemaker cohort, Crystal was flown to Austin, Texas for the conference. She attended workshops, panels, and film screenings. She especially enjoyed the Lego Education and Stanford Design School exhibits, which we hope to incorporate elements of in our curriculum and programming.
4. With the Wharton International Program, Crystal traveled to Stockholm, Sweden, a global leader in sustainability, to learn about their efforts on the individual, organization/company, and government level. She participated in case studies, business, and school visits. With this immersive experience, we learned how essential collaboration is for the most effective climate action.
Altogether, she’s equipped with the tools, resources, and partnerships to serve our community. Accessible, inclusive, and quality education is at the forefront of our mission. 💚📚🐸
