About last Thursday night…
A Legacy Unmasked was not just a gala, it was a defining moment for the future of Philadelphia’s children.
The evening celebrated leadership, philanthropy, and the extraordinary power of community, culminating in a surprise finale that left the room speechless. At the close of the night, Danielle Sadock and the Sadock Family Foundation stunned guests with an unforgettable gift, a transformational
$5 MILLION investment in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia to support youth programs, capital improvements, and endowment for generations to come. It was a moment of pure generosity, vision, and love for our kids, honoring the legacy of David Sadock and Danielle’s years of unwavering commitment to creating brighter futures for young people across Philadelphia.
And the momentum didn’t stop there.
Together, supporters from across the country rallied behind the mission and helped the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia raise an additional $3.1 MILLION for our kids, proving what is possible when people come together with purpose and heart.
The evening came alive through the leadership and support of our Presenting Sponsors, John M. Scheffey, PE, Anita O'Connor and The Haverford Trust Company, alongside evening Chairs Scott Applebaum and Anita O’Connor, whose passion helped shape an unforgettable celebration.
Our remarkable emcees, Sean Bloodwell of KPMG, Loraine Ballard Morrill of iHeartMedia Inc., and Joel Davis of NBCUniversal, energized the room and carried the spirit of the evening with grace and excitement. Mike Goings of Philadelphia 76ers delivered a powerful introduction honoring our Champion and Hero, Coach Dick Vermeil, whose legacy of excellence in leadership continues to inspire all of us through the Coach’s Private Reserve Dinner.
One of the most moving moments of the night came when Boys & Girls Club youth filled the room with hope and heart through a breathtaking performance of “Heal the World,” earning a standing ovation from every corner of the ballroom. With support from Tyler and Makenna Perry of Perry Homes, and Sarah Sherman Barrera and Pedro Barrera alongside their NY Singers, the performance reminded everyone exactly why this mission matters so deeply.
The evening was elegant, joyful, and inspiring, featuring extraordinary cuisine from the The Union League of Philadelphia, exceptional cheeses from BelGioioso Cheese and unforgettable wines from Vermeil Wines.
To Danielle Sadock, our presenting and community sponsors, supporters, volunteers, and every person who believes in the promise of our children: thank you for showing up, giving generously, and investing in futures that will change our city for generations.
This was more than an event.
This was transformation.
This was hope.
This was legacy in action.
And after a night like this… we already cannot wait for next year. 💙
