In just 48 hours we’ve witnessed the new administration directly attack our communities and roll back rights that immigrant, BIPOC, and trans organizers have put their lives on the line for.
When fascism is beyond our doorstep, our bodily autonomy is being further threatened on a national stage, and state-sanctioned violence is increasing, what does it mean to turn toward hope? How do we alchemize our conditions to build brighter nows? As we look toward the year ahead, these are the questions we’re asking at Third Wave Fund—strategizing ways to collectively root into a practice of hope and action to resource the fight for gender justice.
One of the ways we have always found a beacon of hope, despite the storm, is through the work of our grantee partners who have always created systems of care and interdependence that we can actually rely on. Everyday we are boosting their actions, gatherings, healing circles, trainings, job openings, and more across the country in our stories - please tap in whenever you can to not only support, but join in on their organizing!
Last month, thanks to a generous activist donor, every gift contributed to Third Wave Fund of any amount meant an extra $100 went to gender justice movements—up to a total of $10,000. Thanks to 105 of you, we exceeded our match, receiving an additional $10,000 on top of the nearly $20,000 contributed.
We can only do this work if we are collectively steadfast in our commitment to hope. And when we are, we begin to identify the roles each of us plays in showing up for our movements to turn the tide of our futures 🌊
The work continues in 2025. Join us!
