Members of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus returned to 305 West End for a truly thrilling session.

As Charles’ glorious tenor rang out to open the afternoon, residents and caregivers alike hurried to find a seat. Chelsea and Ashley wowed the crowd with a number of duets, while Abigail charmed everyone with her delightful take on Eliza Doolittle. Kyaunnee, in her first session with us, dazzled with an impeccably sung rendition of Adele’s Audition Aria from Die Fledermaus. As her soprano soared ever higher, you could hear murmurs of “wow” ripple through the room.

This month at The Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, Halli touched hearts by sharing stories of singing “Goodnight My Someone” to her nieces and nephews before nap time, a sweet reminder of how music connects generations.

Adam had the whole room laughing with “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park.”

In an especially memorable moment, a woman in the audience sang along to nearly every word and shared that singing helps keep her memory sharp!

Sing for Your Seniors brought ChamberQUEER to perform for the elders of SAGE for a profoundly moving afternoon of music and community.

ChamberQUEER’s mission is to make music in community where everyone is welcome to show up as their authentic selves, and that spirit was felt throughout the afternoon.

These world-class performers shared stunning cello pieces, soaring vocal arias, and beloved Broadway favorites. Audience members kept streaming in throughout the performance, drawn by the beautiful music—we kept running out of chairs.

Shakers and maracas were passed around, turning “Girl from Ipanema” into a joyful group percussion number that delighted everyone in the room.

Everyone rose together to sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Artists and elders alike stayed afterward to chat, leaving the session with a shared sense of joy.
