HPHS students put their summers to good use at CYD’s Summer College Prep program! Students got a thorough introduction to the college process and earned certificates of college readiness. Many thanks to CYD NextGen Leader Kendall Brown and volunteer Sheila Nealon, who helped with college essay review, and to NextGen Leaders Caroline Abikaram and Esteban Monge-Morera, who participated in a college and career panel at HPHS.

CYD Board Chair SoVonna Goins made a special visit to Museum Day at City-As-School, an end-of-year June event in which students shared their work and the community enjoyed a block party and barbecue.

Congratulations to the June 2026 graduates of our three partner schools, Manhattan Comprehensive Night and Day High School, City-As-School, and High School for Health Professions and Human Services! In ceremonies around the city, students received their diplomas and will soon move on to college, training programs, and employment. We are so proud of all your hard work and look forward to seeing all that you will achieve! A special thank you to former Borough President Ruth Messinger, who spoke at Manhattan Comprehensive's graduation and might have been referring to all of our graduates in praising the hard work of the class of '26: "You have all climbed your own mountain."
