Great people, great service! YSOP participants from Pelham took part in Connex, our intergenerational service project, and had a fabulous time doing so.
Connex has deepened the role of service in the lives of young volunteers by showing real life examples of older volunteers who've keep service an essential part of their life. It connects students to older minds with kind hearts, wise quips, and lots of fun stories.

YSOP is so grateful to partner with and their generous students who've donated their time blanket making as part of Connex. They're working with seniors side by side sharing about how they view service as part of their lives- and in turn getting the wisdom and encouragement from seniors who've been involved with service in their lives.
The blankets they cut and tie together are off to a happy and meaningful start- and will go to those in need in Brooklyn where they were made with thoughtful hands and minds.

YSOP was able to hold our first program in DC last week since Covid. It was a meaningful weeklong service program with (First Christian Church). Their Pastor, Dan Netting, brought a wonderful and insightful group of teens and adult chaperones. Before COVID, Dan brought groups to YSOP in DC and NYC it was an exciting and successful return of engaging youth in service!
We are so grateful to kick off DC programming. Special thanks to DC Central Kitchen, Martha’s Table, Capital Area Food Bank, and Luther Place Memorial Church.
