YSOP

Still overjoyed with the success of our event.
Thanks to our YSOP student and senior volunteers who you see here with some of the 100 blankets given out to kids grade K-4. There were smiles, laughter, and even cookies being shared. 💙
Thank you again to the BGCNR, and our elected officials who attended: Legislator Terry Clements, Senator Nathalia Fernandez, and Rep. George Latimer!

Thank you everyone who make our blanket distribution event at the Re*****on Boys & Girls Club in New Rochelle a huge success! The adorable faces of the kids with their new cozy blankets fill our hearts with joy. We'll have more to share later this week. 💙
Big appreciation to the BGCNR for partnering with YSOP for a great day of fun and service. We are wishing all involved a cozy and warm start to fall- maybe even with a great new blanket.

This Wednesday we invite you to join us for our blanket drive in New Rochelle. As the days get colder so quickly, we are hoping they provide warmth and comfort. Special thanks to Senator Nathalia Fernandez and Legislator Terry Clements for help putting this together.
Come out to help make a cozier fall for all!

Yesterday, YSOP was so happy to donate blankets made locally by our Connex volunteers this spring. Our first stop was Brooklyn Quaker Meeting. And then we rolled down the rest to Next Steps Church to give the rest away, where we met Chris who'll distribute them to mothers and families with small children.
We hope they keep people warm and happy this fall and are so grateful to continue to have such great partnerships in Brooklyn, New York!

Great people, great service! YSOP participants from Pelham took part in Connex, our intergenerational service project, and had a fabulous time doing so.
Connex has deepened the role of service in the lives of young volunteers by showing real life examples of older volunteers who've keep service an essential part of their life. It connects students to older minds with kind hearts, wise quips, and lots of fun stories.
Thank you all for taking part!

YSOP is so grateful to partner with and their generous students who've donated their time blanket making as part of Connex. They're working with seniors side by side sharing about how they view service as part of their lives- and in turn getting the wisdom and encouragement from seniors who've been involved with service in their lives.
The blankets they cut and tie together are off to a happy and meaningful start- and will go to those in need in Brooklyn where they were made with thoughtful hands and minds.

Students taking action in service alongside seniors for our special Connex program. We are happy to have so many willing participants in New York and DC giving opportunities for community and working for a world that cares for each other.
Thanks to all who've helped ! Onward.

YSOP was able to hold our first program in DC last week since Covid. It was a meaningful weeklong service program with (First Christian Church). Their Pastor, Dan Netting, brought a wonderful and insightful group of teens and adult chaperones. Before COVID, Dan brought groups to YSOP in DC and NYC it was an exciting and successful return of engaging youth in service!
We are so grateful to kick off DC programming. Special thanks to DC Central Kitchen, Martha’s Table, Capital Area Food Bank, and Luther Place Memorial Church.
