Activism in Adoption welcomes Joe Toolan on December 4th, and tickets are available now. Joe is a well-known LGBTQIA+ and adoptee advocate currently serving as the Board Chair for Annapolis Pride , is also on the Board of Directors of Adoptees With Guatemalan Roots, a Board Director of OUT for Sustainability , and is also a Senior Fellow at Environmental Leadership Program .
Joe will be discussing what it means to him as a transracial international adoptee with Guatemalan Roots growing up in a White family. Transracial adoptees often find that they do not fit in, and can struggle with identity and self, as well as navigating challenging conservations with their parents around race and class. As a q***r person, Joe will also discuss navigating coming out, being authentic, and living a truthful life with both adoptive parents, and in reunion with birth family.
Register today — tickets are just $15 — and as always, Activism in Adoption sessions are always free for birthparents, adopted people, and Birthparent Support Alliance members. https://i.mtrbio.com/knkkrohnrk
