Vaccines. Food. Supplies. Harnesses. And a whole lot of people who love their pets.

We spent the day in Hunts Point, Bronx, with staff and volunteers from Animal Care Centers of NYC, helping local dog and cat families get some of the basics that help keep pets healthy, safe and home.

Hi friends,

Rescue is tough right now. Fosters are scarce. Adopters are scarce. And big, blocky-headed dogs like Milo and Hunny often wait the longest.

We need your help changing that.

MILO: 80+ pounds of lovable meatball. He needs an adult home with a quieter lifestyle, good walks and, ideally, a yard. Busy NYC life can overwhelm him, but after one training session, he and his foster are already making great progress.

HUNNY: Smaller package. Huge smile. Constantly wagging tail. Former mama. Professional cuddler. Hunny struggles with being left alone and needs a patient home willing to help her work through it. GLDR will provide a certified separation anxiety behavior consultant and ongoing support.

Right now, Hunny is in boarding. Milo needs a new foster.

They don’t need perfect homes. They need the right ones.

Can you help?

• Adopt.
• Foster.
• Share their posts.
• Tell someone about them.
• Donate toward boarding, training, medical care, and everyday expenses.

Sometimes one share reaches exactly the right person.

Let’s find Milo and Hunny theirs.

If you’ve met Hunny, you know why she collects fans. The nonstop waggy tail, the froggy legs, and the way she seems to believe everyone she meets is already her friend.

Hunny has been through a lot, including losing her puppies and her home. She’s having a hard time being left alone, so while she waits for her forever person, she needs boarding, training, and lots of love and support.

That’s where we can all pitch in! ❤️

🛍️ Shop the Hunny Munny merch collection.

Every purchase helps keep Hunny safe, supported, and one step closer to the couch and forever home she deserves.

One dog at a time. Hunny is next.

And if you can’t shop, sharing Hunny’s story helps, too!

Hunny Munny needs a foster or adopter - urgently.

Her foster placement didn't work out, and it wasn't her fault. The resident cat was there first, and in a small NYC apartment there was no fair way to make it work for either of them. Her foster tried hard and is genuinely heartbroken about it — she'd hoped to adopt Hunny herself.

So on Saturday we had to move Hunny to boarding. We rarely do this, only in emergencies, and this was one. Huge thanks to our friends at Best Friends Boarding & Day Club who made room on short notice and keep sending us great updates on her. She's safe and well cared for. She just shouldn't be living there.

About Hunny: ~3 years old. Surrendered to the NYC shelter after her owners bred her and were done with her. Great with other dogs, loves every person she meets, no cats. She's working through separation anxiety after everything in her life changed at once — she's improving, and The Good Life Dog Rescue provides full support to her and her people: training, resources, someone to call on a hard night. Nobody takes this on alone.

Here's how you can help:

🐾Foster her. Even short-term. Getting her out of boarding and into a home is the single biggest thing anyone can do for her right now.

🐾Adopt her. She's ready for her person.

🐾Donate. Boarding is expensive, and every day she's there costs us. If you can't foster or adopt, a donation covers her stay and keeps her safe until she lands. Any amount helps - link in comments.

Share this post. Free, takes five seconds, and it's how most of our dogs find their people.

Hunny is available through The Good Life Dog Rescue. Message us with questions or to apply. 💗
