KCP member Joe Perriatt recently volunteered for the Louisiana Childrens' Museum Financial Literacy Program sponsored by the Society of Louisiana CPAs. Children were given the opportunity to "Earn & Learn" various financial concepts while shopping in the "store" and learning concepts such as "Needs vs. Wants". It's great to see our members out in the community in action!

Deidre Charlot attended the 2026 Crescent City Classic Appreciation Party at Blue Crab Restaurant Wednesday, May 6. The event recognized the many volunteers and staff who help make the Crescent City Classic 10K Race a success. Members of Kiwanis Pontchartrain, St. Mary's Academy Key Clubbers, friends and family served water to runners and walkers at the Crescent City Classic 10K Saturday, April 4, 2026. Kiwanis Pontchartrain members Alvin Harrison and Willie Williams ran in the event along with more than 20,000 other participants.

Karen Darensburg organized the April 1 Easter Egg Hunt for pre-K, kindergarten, and first graders at St. Mary's Academy (SMA). SMA Key Clubbers and other students distributed plastic eggs in the grass field and the students collected the eggs and received a candy gift bag. Myra Lewis and Deidre Charlot assisted Karen with gift bag distribution. Also pictured is SMA teacher Darlene Hutchison. 🐰🌷

Pictured is the Little Free Library (LFL) located at the New Orleans Women and Children's Shelter (NOWCS) on Iberville in Mid-City New Orleans. This LFL was recently installed to provide NOWCS residents access to books that appeal to adults and children. This is the fifth LFL maintained by the Kiwanis Club of Pontchartrain, joining two other East Bank and two West Bank LFLs. 📚
