This Thursday 4/9 at 7:30pm there is free screening of the film Over Punitive at the Broadside at 600 North Broad Avenue. Doors open at 6:30 with the screening at 7:30 followed by a panel discussion.

Our friends at are back with their annual holiday book drive benefiting .or! Donate books for kids and families impacted by the incarceration system. Head on over to Domino Sound Record Shack at 2557 Bayou Rd. on Sunday, December 21 from 3-5pm to donate books during ’s holiday crate dig! Their goal is 228 new books. 📚🪩📀🎧🎵

“I would like to request a dictionary and a book to help me with writing to my 6 year old daughter…I just find it hard to find the right words to say to her.”

Today we worked with 6 volunteers to answer 41 letters. We prepped those 41 packages of books to be mailed out this weekly to mostly Alabama prisons and jails. This was one letter we received expressing gratitude for the books sent.
