A q***r New Orleans visionary. One night on the big screen.

Join us June 22 at 7:30 PM at the Broad Theater for a special Pride Month screening of George Dureau: New Orleans Artist with a post-screening talkback with the directors Sergio Andres-Lobo Navia and Jarret Lofstead.

Can't make it in person? Watch it from home through August 22, or see it on the big screen first at the Broad Theater on June 22 at 7:30 PM

Dureau was a New Orleans painter and photographer whose portraits of Black, disabled, and LGBTQ+ New Orleanians challenged conventional beauty and celebrated the human form in all its complexity. This Pride Month documentary traces his creative process, his bond with the city, and his legacy, scored with original compositions by .rossignoli.
