In Memoriam...

We'd like to pause to honor the memory of three icons our community lost recently:

-Barry Aubert, 2026 King and Member of the Krewe of NOMTOC

-Ronell Johnson, Trombonist with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band

-William "Billy" Mims, Vocalist with The New Orleans Mystics

All gone too soon.

Enjoyable night with Friday for their 7th Annual Gala, Marching Forward: Lighting the Way!

Attendees gathered at the Alexander Room & Terrace for an amazing night featuring the "Motown sound" and honoring the agency's impact of service, community, and hope.

Thank you, Kenitha Grooms-Williams, CEO, for the great work your organization leads!

Taking Care of Our Men!

June is Men's Health Month and Men's Mental Health Month.

Here are two practical ways you can support the men in your life this month and year-round:

Encourage them to get regular wellness exams. These help in detecting/diagnosing conditions like testicular and prostate cancer and more.

Be a listening ear. Let them know that you support them and are available to listen and offer help no matter when they need it.

Call (504) 821-2601 to access men's health and mental health services.

The Atlantic hurricane season starts today and runs through November 30. Don't get caught off guard…plan ahead!

Consider ordering a 90-day supply of your prescription medications, writing down emergency numbers, gathering supplies for an emergency kit, and creating an evacuation plan in the event you have to leave home.

NOMAF is grateful for the restricted donor funding that supports the education and training of young musicians in music and healthcare fields that will give them marketable skills to increase their incomes while continuing to develop their music careers.

We’re highlighting two of those musicians who are currently enrolled in the Education and Scholarship Training Program at Delgado Community College today. Way to go!

Excited to participate in the third annual "Mindful May" event presented by MusiCares®, in collaboration with Sweetwater, at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation.

The event featured a panel discussion, “The Calm After The Storm: Community Healing Through Music and Resilience,” that included six-time Grammy® winner PJ Morton, the Recording Academy®’s Reid Wick, and therapist August Boyd to explore the role of music in healing, particularly in the aftermath of natural disasters.

MusiCares® is the leading charity supporting the health and well-being of the music community.
