Behind every student who arrives safely and confidently at school is a team of professionals dedicated to their well-being. This month, we celebrate the dedicated physical therapists who support students in schools and communities across Louisiana.

Physical therapists play a vital role in helping students safely access their education, including partnering with occupational therapists and transportation teams to provide training on specialized transportation techniques and best practices. Their expertise helps create safer environments, increased independence, and greater opportunities for student success.

Thank you to the school-based physical therapists for the difference you make every day.

June is Child Vision Awareness Month! 👀

HEAL encourages comprehensive eye exams in addition to school screenings.

Many children are unaware they have a vision problem because they assume everyone sees the world the same way they do. Healthy vision is essential to a child's success - both in and out of the classroom. This is the reason why early detection can be critical in the prevention of long-term challenges.

Identifying vision challenges early helps children learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
