Amid the catastrophic quagmire war in Iran, trying to distract us from soaring prices, hoping we are too tired to oppose his vanity projects in our nation’s capital, now Trump pushes to privatize the VA.

Join us on Friday, September 4th at 4:30 PM at the VA, Canal and Galvez. Yes, it will be hot; we will be there for an hour or less. There is some shade. We’ll bring ice, water, and umbrellas along with our outrage and determination.

🚨NO DATA CENTERS IN NEW ORLEANS!

Show out to the City Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday, 8/25 to pack the public hearing and make public comment against new data centers in our city.

Public opposition forced the CPC to pass a one-year moratorium on data centers. Now, they want to change the zoning code to allow new data centers. We demand a permanent ban!

"Inactive status is the first step toward removal." That's from the ACLU of Louisiana in their new report on Louisiana's voter rolls. 236,187 people got flagged in a single month last June, with Black voters at nearly twice the rate of white voters.

Checking your voter registration only takes two minutes: voterportal.sos.la.gov or the GeauxVote app.

Tell Helena Moreno: NO TO TRUMP MONEY!

The city administration is considering applying for the Model Cities Initiative, a Department of Justice funding program that weaponizes cities’ infrastructure for Trump administration priorities such as immigration enforcement, surveillance, and over-policing.

The Model Cities Initiative clearly outlines immigration enforcement as its first priority and includes dangerous surveillance tech as costs that the funding will cover.

Time and time again, New Orleans has been used as a testing ground for policing and surveillance. Our city deserves better, our people deserve better. We urge the Moreno administration to cease any consideration of funding sources that put New Orleans communities in danger.

The ACLU of Louisiana published a data report that analyzes inactive voter numbers and demographics from January, 2025 to May 2026. The report, titled “Who Gets Flagged Inactive? Race, Party, and Geography in Louisiana’s V oter Rolls,” shows a shocking increase in the total inactive voter numbers and unequal distribution among demographics.

Black voters and Democrat voters were found to be inactive in Louisiana at twice the rate of white and Republican voters. While inactive voters are still registered to vote, being designated inactive is one step toward being removed from the voter rolls.

🚨 URGENT: England Airpark Approved Family Detention Center

The Facts:
• Feb 23, 2026: Board authorized contracts with ICE contractors
• 528 beds for families & unaccompanied children
• Opening: Late August 2026 (coincides with children losing legal counsel access)
• Buildings contain asbestos + toxic chemicals
• Board refusing public records requests
• LaSalle Corrections has documented deaths in ICE custody

They said “temporary humanitarian facility.” Reality = strict ICE custody, forced separation, no oversight.

TAKE ACTION NOW:

Email/call England Airpark Board to cancel these contracts
Contact local elected officials who appointed the board
Virtual board meeting: July 23 @ 4PM CT / 5PM ET
