NICARAGUAN RELIEF FUND - Who Are We?
Founded in 1991, the Nicaraguan Relief Fund is a Non-Profit organization registered in accordance with Federal and State Laws. It is as an organization described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Our Mission Statement: “We, of the Nicaraguan Relief Fund believe that each and every human being has the right to a decent and dignified life. Based on this principle it is our mission to assist the poor and needy Nicaraguans whether in our homeland or here in New Orleans. We will faithfully pursue our goal of providing aid to those in need, and remain firm in our commitment of helping them to improve their lives”.
Where Do Our Resources come from?
Our resources come from Membership dues, donations and special events.
Who benefits?
Since we were founded, we have sent to Nicaragua several million dollars in medical equipment, hospital beds, food, clothing and toys during the Christmas season. This assistance has been channeled through our chapter in Nicaragua who is in charge of distribution usually through church-based organizations.
