💚 Thank You, Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church Fix-It Team! 💚

We are so grateful for our partnership with the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church Fix-It Team, who go above and beyond to care for our homebound neighbors when repairs and safety needs arise.

This week, nine Fix-It team members spent two days helping one of our homebound recipients with several important projects, including assembling a wheelchair ramp, repairing unsafe electrical conditions, fixing both exterior doors and installing new locks, and providing a new dog wire so their pup can safely go in and out without them having to leave their home.

These may seem like small fixes, but for our homebound neighbors, they can make a huge difference in their safety, independence, and quality of life.

Thank you, Fix-It Team, for helping our neighbors stay safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes. We are so thankful for all that you do! 💚

Happy National Peach Day! 🍑💛

A huge thank you to Dish & Design for catering our Volunteer Luncheon! Saying everyone loved the food would be an understatement. Our volunteers got to enjoy a taste of the delicious meals we deliver to our homebound neighbors, and many even said they wished they were signed up for meals so they could enjoy them every day! 😋

We couldn’t do what we do without Anja and her incredible team at Dish & Design. Thank you for helping us make our Volunteer Luncheon so special and for helping us show our volunteers just how much we appreciate everything they do. 💚

Our mouths are watering over this delicious Chicken Tex-Mex with black beans and mixed vegetables!

We love providing our homebound neighbors with a variety of meals that are not only nutritious and keep them fueled, but are also delicious, satisfying, and something to look forward to. ❤️

Volunteer of the Year: Phil Flowers 💚

We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of being named our Volunteer of the Year than Phil Flowers! 🎉

For the past three years, Phil has been a familiar face around Meals on Wheels • Feeding Friends. Multiple mornings a week, he’s here ready to jump in wherever he’s needed: packing coolers, stocking freezers, tackling the fruit, working the meal line, and always finding a way to lend a hand.

But Phil’s impact goes far beyond the meals he helps pack. As a dad, he’s showing his children that how you choose to spend your time matters. And we see that lesson shining through in his daughter, Penny! Whenever school is out, you can almost guarantee she’ll be right beside her dad, helping serve our homebound neighbors. 💚

Phil is also a huge part of making our annual gala run smoothly, and of course, making it fun! During Fund the Need, you’ll find him with his trusty lightsaber ⚔️making sure every donation is spotted and accounted for.

Phil, thank you for the countless hours, energy, laughter, and heart you’ve given to our Meals on Wheels family over the past three years. We are so lucky to have you, and we truly couldn’t imagine anyone more deserving of this honor!

Did you know August is National Wellness Month?

At Meals on Wheels • Feeding Friends, wellness means so much more than a nutritious meal. Every delivery also brings a friendly face, a wellness check, and a meaningful connection.

For our homebound neighbors, those small moments can make a big difference in helping them feel supported and connected to their community.

As we wrap up National Wellness Month, we’re celebrating all the little things that help our neighbors feel nourished, connected, and cared for. 💙

These magazines are so much more than something to read. They’re packed with helpful local information and resources specifically for older adults, covering everything from healthcare and transportation to financial services, housing, nutrition, caregiver support and so much more.

For many of our recipients, having all of this information together in an easy-to-use printed guide means helpful resources are right at their fingertips when they need them.

We’re so grateful to All About Seniors for providing these guides for us to include with our meal deliveries and helping our neighbors stay informed, connected and supported in our community!
